The Price of Bought Passion

The Price of Bought Passion

She was puffy-eyed, terrified—and for good reason. “K-Kirill!” the little snake squealed when she saw me and tried to lunge forward, but the guys held her by the elbows. “Why are you doing this?!” Unbelievable. I just stared at this idiot in silence, then jerked my chin, signaling the guys to drag the rat toward the middle of the bridge. The Kryukivsky Bridge—an excellent local landmark and a favorite spot among certain suicidal personalities. It was already deep night, and we had temporarily blocked off the road from both sides.

The Devil's Forbidden Angel

The Devil's Forbidden Angel

"I see you have grown a funny bone in your body. That witch is in fact very much almost a human like you. You should not believe everything that you read." "Then how do you intend in fighting this witch? Does she live in an enchanted forest? You know maybe there where the trolls live to?" "In fact, my beloved, the troll lives under the bridge." Yes, this she does find somewhat funny, as she does burst out in hysterical laughter. She almost topples over and falls from her chair. So I patiently wait for her to get over her hysterics before I continue. “Can we focus?”

The Pack's Vampire

The Pack's Vampire

It impacted into the underside of the bridge raining brick debris down into the water as it lodged. Dan clipped the rope to his belt next to where the end of a thicker rope was already tied and opened a pouch taking out a piton, hammering it into the bridge footing. Very quickly he created a ladder of sorts up the footing to the underside of the bridge where the shadows stole the details of his efforts from Heath’s sight. The rope snaked away and up, and every now and again, Heath caught a glimpse of the moonlight catching on the metal as Dan drove it into the underside of the bridge. Tom ascended after him, and the Greg.

I didn't realize just how alluring an ancient vampire could really be until I dove into Talen's past and had my heart broken and stolen by the depth of soul in this character. Everleigh has such a gift for creating these characters with so many layers you can't believe they're not real.

UNDER THAT CONTRACT

UNDER THAT CONTRACT

Susan said, blocking her way. Cameron crossed her arms over her chest. No matter how much she tried to not smile, Susan was too much to her. Finally, a smile appeared on her face. “Hey, I got you!” “Susan?” “Mmm?” “I was married to someone really important,” Cameron began. “Ace was my savior, he was the light on the cave where the other man had me captivated. We were married under a stupid contract where the most important clause was giving him the hair of his company in exchange of the money to save my name. The real problem? I can’t have kids on my own. Gadriel is not my son, he’s the son of someone who’s playing this game with me. A game I can’t talk about yet.” Tears fell from her eyes.

Demon Kings Mate

Demon Kings Mate

I concluded while asking the demon to pull the hotdog footage again. As I was trying to flip the screen, my eyes fell on the shadows on the bridge. It was long and narrow, connecting both the buildings of the Underworld. No one was allowed there since the competitions were on the ground. "I found something." ***

I love the book so far. I just got to the chinese princess of chinese hell. For the bar scene, I wish she had done something like the following... Could I get some late 20th century catholic communion wine? Pre-blessed, of course, this is hell after all. Ordering grape juice in front of daemons...

S.A.S.

S.A.S.

It stopped by the second line. Back on the river, Jack tossed a grappling hook at the underside of the bridge like he’d done it yesterday. He did not do it gracefully. He did it until it stuck. The hook bit the world. He pulled himself along the lip of stone, rain slime and moss making the work rude. His fingers found the adhesive seam more than his eyes did. A panel had been applied to the underside of the arch—thin, flexible, coated in silt that had been painted on, not earned. Behind it, a cavity cut into old concrete.

The Anointment

The Anointment

“That is little comfort.” “You have to understand, Termâs, that man out there is very powerful, and he must possess something of equal or greater power than anything I could muster up.” Saron looked at the enemy below. “I would love to know what that something is.” As they spoke a group of trolls dragged a large wooden bridge toward the wall. They pushed it to the edge of the tar-filled moat. “Get them!” Termâs barked.

The Pack's Triquetra

The Pack's Triquetra

Havermouth, Present Time The bridge they’d entered on was underwater. Their police escort scooted his bike back to the window. “In the Ute,” he said leaning in the window. “It’s possibly doable, but I wouldn’t want to try it, myself, and the old train bridge is still open on this side, well above water. It’s like they say, they don’t make them like they used to.” “Very true,” Talen agreed with a vampire’s appreciation for the past.

I've always wished to have the ability to read my favorite book for the first time again. What Everleigh has accomplished here is exactly that. They say there are two sides to every story, but in this case, there are multiple, and it will turn your world on its head.
Jessica K
This one helped me see where the Triquetra were coming from with how they were treating her. I still don't condone their actions, but they're doing better and learning from one's mistakes is important. I can't wait for the next one! I'm checking everyday for it

MY EX LEFT ME TO DIE, SO I BECAME QUEEN OF THE APOCALYPSE

MY EX LEFT ME TO DIE, SO I BECAME QUEEN OF THE APOCALYPSE

The whole structure trembled under them, wood complaining but holding. Caleb’s face was tight with concentration. “I hate bridges.” Gabriel walked alongside, one hand hovering near the railing but not touching it. “Most bridges don’t care.” “That’s not comforting.” “Wasn’t meant to be.” They reached the far side. Only then did Evelyn breathe fully. One by one, the vehicles crossed. The second made it cleanly. The third slipped halfway across when the rear tire hit mud on the approach and came onto the bridge at a bad angle. Wood shrieked. Someone inside screamed. The truck lurched toward the broken side rail.

Shattered Bonds

Shattered Bonds

Buppig says in her ear. She begins carefully placing her paws on the rickety bridge. It creaks under her weight and her head jerks up to see the sitting troll reach up to scratch his nose before settling back. She continues, finding the boards that seem to be strong enough to bear our weight. We’re about three-quarters of the way across, when everything goes quiet. Too quiet. She looks up and to her left, straight into the dark brown eyes of a troll.
