The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife

The Return Of The Discarded Billionaire Ex-Wife

The book was reviewed in four national publications within the first week. All four noted that it was unusual. Part engineering memoir. Part family history. Part of the argument about what happened to people who were structurally excluded from the families they were born into and what they built when they found their way in any way. One reviewer wrote: "Luther writes about bridges as other people write about love — with the complete conviction of someone for whom the subject is not metaphor but life itself. The book's central argument, that the invisible work of understanding what lies beneath is the foundation of everything visible, is both a professional manifesto and a deeply personal rec

No Escape!

No Escape!

By midday, I reached the bridge or what was left of it, half of it had collapsed into the river, leaving twisted metal and floating cars and the water was black, sluggish, and wrong looking like oil and every ripple shimmered red. The other half of the bridge looked stable enough if I moved fast. I started across, keeping low, eyes scanning the shadows, the wind here carried a new sound soft moaning, like voices caught in fog. Halfway across, I saw movement below something crawling through the shallows. Dozens of them, the Hollowed, their skin sloughed off in the water, revealing bones that faintly glowed unnaturally from within. One of them looked up, it's jaw hung crooked, eyes clouded whi

The Stripping Heiress

My skin felt hyperaware under his hands. Don’t feel. Just look. I swept the flashlight under the bridge. “See anything?” Marcus asked. “Shadows. Algae.” I twisted slightly, blood rushing to my head. “The bottom boards aren’t the same as the top. Two layers. Twenty-one boards underneath.” I counted, checked how they met the shore. “Nothing here. Pull me up.” He did, and I steadied myself on the bridge. Everything matched, twenty-one boards below, twenty-one above. No missing pieces.

We stood right at the front of the bridge. Now that I could take a good look at it, I took a moment to admire the stone. It looked ancient, yet there wasn’t a single crack in sight. Whoever cared for the bridge clearly took their work seriously. Underneath it, the water was the clearest blue I had ever looked at. It was so clear it almost looked like glass, and just by one look, one could tell it belonged to the Merfolk. I suddenly got the urge to run. Whether it was across the bridge or away from it so I could get the hell back to the bus was something I couldn’t tell yet. Maybe both.

A year has already passed, and the book is still not finished. Although it is very well written (except for the chapters where the action drags), I have started to get bored. I keep waiting for “ the war that ends the world” but it never comes.

I used to wait for the chapters but now it is unnecessarily dragged on. Author builds up for climax so nicely but unfortunately it never comes which leaves reader frustrated and at some point gives up ( like me). Seems like lot of tease without any ending.

Crossing The Bridge

Crossing The Bridge

It is rude and pathetic, but most people lack bravery and basic decency. I am a Bridge. It is a role I chose before I was born into this lifetime. My soul has reincarnated since the first human was created. Really gives meaning to the “old soul” label. To be a bridge, one’s soul must have been reincarnated for thousands of years and have mastered most of the roles they have chosen in previous lives. Few souls choose to be a Bridge. It is a very challenging soul role to level out of.

A Little Bit of Joy

A Little Bit of Joy

I still had some months to live and I was grateful for that. "White chicks are crazy," I heard Jamal mutter under his breath since he had always been very scared of my mum and I snorted. "My mum is half Asian---" "And half white." "Fair enough," I admitted and we remained silent for a while as I hunched over and stalked on the deserted bridge. The road bridge was constructed over our town's wide river, a major water source for many of us. It had a thick, black railing of either side to serve as a barrier. Occasionally, one or two cars passed by, but this flyover was mainly isolated during noon.

The Pinnacle of Life

The Pinnacle of Life

In the next second, a bloodied bridge burrowed out of the spatial cracks. It was stained with blood, old and mottled. There were also countless marks made by blades and axes, and it was clearly worn, showing the vicissitudes of time. The world seemed a little more desolated from the blow of the chilly wind. There were also faint cries of ghosts in the flutters of the wind. Meanwhile, there was a vast river under the bridge, with yellow water flowing into the distance. “What is this?”

I would love to have a no ending novel. But what we can expect. There will always be an ending. I think there will be a new story that will open on the last chapter whereas turn out to be Alex knows what will happen on his future. I wish the author continue like that… Thanks for this. Worth it…!!!!

i thought he'd be successful going and dominating the chi universe after obtaining the fiend lord's memories and start story with Zendaya... it would have been better if the diffracted universe had not been destroyed and he finally gets to live a peaceful life after all these........ But I loved it.

now, thankfully Oasis is really great at hiding her existence. I think I will like her. I would have liked her better if she had answered all of my queries. My sister is the best sister you could find in the whole world. Even though she doesn’t share her problems which I wanted her to, she would listen to ours, and wiggle out a suitable solution. Why wouldn’t she share her problems? I sighed again. Well the best thing that had outcome through this mess is that we are living in the same house right now. That i need to thank him. I looked outside the corridor window, a group of children were playing , running around. Some were dragging logs of wood and back. My eyes widened when I saw them ca

The Billionaire’s unknown Heir

The Billionaire’s unknown Heir

About a book Adrian had read that he thought Ethan would find interesting, which turned out to be about the history of suspension bridges, which meant Ethan was already going to love it before I had even told him it existed. About a documentary I had watched about structural failures in twentieth century architecture, which Adrian said he would watch, and which I believed him about in a way I would not have believed anyone else about. It was the kind of conversation, I thought, listening to him talk about the bridge book with the genuine enthusiasm of a man who had read it because he wanted to and not because

HE REJECTED ME AT THE ALTER

And then something happens that I did not plan for. The woman with river-water eyes is standing at the other end of the bridge. She is not alone. Behind her — spread across the width of the bridge's entrance, standing in the cold with the stillness of things that have been in this city long enough to stop having to announce themselves — are others. A dozen. Two dozen. The city's underground, the ones who have been here long enough to feel what a city with a Warden feels like versus a city without one. They came.
