The sound of rain hitting the window joined their gasps and moans into a symphony of desire that filled the room. "Just like that," she encouraged, her nails digging into his back as he thrust deeper, each movement sending waves of pleasure coursing through her.

And somewhere in the silence that followed, outside that little shop in Haver, the sky cracked with a sound like thunder. But it wasn’t thunder. It was the sound of Aster’s patience ending.

She looked over at Gabrielle whose flustered cheeks had turned red. “What is the request?” Maya said, trying to sound casual as possible. “A double outing with your friend, myself, you and Ryan.” The two ladies exchanged flabbergasted looks, Maya was overjoyed that she busted out before she could stop herself. “You mean a double date?” “I…no…I mean yes” Brian’s stammer decipates his shyness at admittance. “You have a shoot by…..” “I do not have a shoot Gabrielle, Mr Dinkins, send us the details, we will be more than delighted to join you.”

Chapter 2 It’s been four years now, and my twins are three years old. Their names are Princess Xenna and Prince Xenno. I really went through a lot during my pregnancy, like constant vomiting and intense food cravings. Good thing my friends, especially Tanya, were always there to help me. I was deep in thought when Princess Xenna tugged at me. "Mommy, please 'gewa' us some cookies," she said, mispronouncing 'gawa' (make) into 'gewa' while making cute eyes. It was adorable enough to make me secretly laugh.

I didn’t like it. I turned to look at grandma. She smiled. “Two happy birds have visited two people sitting on a bench under a cocoa tree,” she said and walked away. Esther laughed again. She still had no idea of what grandma was trying to imply. “They are called black-cheeked love birds. They like playing a lot,” Esther said and giggled. I was surprised to hear the name of the birds. I didn’t know. The name of the birds further threw light on grandma's superstitious predictions. I got worried.

"Glory, glory, Hallelujah! Glory, glory, praise the Lord!" They clapped in a rhythmic, driving beat, their voices rising to the ceiling in a crescendo of spiritual fervor. Hands were thrust into the air, bodies swayed. "Come and see what the Lord has done!" they sang, their eyes closed in ecstasy, a stark contrast to the sterile silence that had inhabited the room moments before.

I flashed him a smile, nodding contently as my eyes briefly caught the sight of his and Anna's hands locked together. "Well then, you two better hang on tight to each other and hope that this happiness you've snatched up..." I trailed off, giving Sebastian a mischievous look, "weathers the storms that are bound to come."

Checking the time she knew he was up. The ringing of the phone on the other end was in sync with her heart. “Heath.” The brusque answer brought a smile to her face. “How many times I have told you to rest?” she replied. The shocked silence brought a chuckle out of her, “Baby girl.” The hitch in his voice tore her little confidence.

We just had to choose to stay. Together. Always. With three rings. And one star. Always north. Always returning to the same place. Always home.

“How could you tell so quickly?” “Because you walk like the sun is shining inside you,” Ònààrà teased, her accent wrapping the words warmly. “Celeste never does that. She walks like thunder, calm, but you know lightning is hiding in her pockets.” Evelyn pressed a hand to her lips, giggling. “Thunder, hm? I can’t argue with that.” Ònààrà leaned closer, whispering conspiratorially. “And your voice. Celine’s voice cuts; yours dances.”
