Novel & Cerita Twice Rhymes

ABIGEAL AT THE end of the workday, Blaine and I stood facing each other with our eyes narrowed. The silence was all-encompassing and tension hung thick in the air. “Ready?” He asked. I scoffed. “I was born ready.” “Let's go, then.” We raised our right fists at the same time, then smacked them onto our open left palms three times. “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” Blaine presented a rock. I looked at my scissors and sighed.

She has somehow been able to get the moon goddess to let me find my mate on the same day I turn eighteen. What luck! I stood frozen in place, a complete nervous wreck, and eyes still glued on this beautiful man before me. “He’s coming!” Astra squealed, unable to contain her excitement that mirrored mine. He still had his eyes locked on me as he took slow deliberate strides, until he was close enough that I forgot how to breathe. He reached for the bouquet, his fingers brushing mine, and sending sparks dancing across my skin. His eyes flashed grey again at the contact, and he shut his eyes for a few seconds to savor the feeling, before opening them again, and then smiled.

A few months later I was holding twins in my arms with my mate looking down at me but not with a smile. I had made a grave mistake

The step completed. Nothing happened. Then— The same moment happened again. Not a repetition. Not a loop. A second version. The wolf stepped forward— Differently. A slight variation in angle. In weight. In outcome. Both steps existed. Simultaneously. Overlapping. Two realities occupying the same space. The world did not break. It held both. Levi’s breath caught. “That’s not—” The second variation changed. Not by choice. By influence. The eye shifted slightly.

I responded with a nod and thanks to the old man, then I walked to the part where I could release my heavy feeling. The shore is rocky, but only pure sand. I carefully walked back to the cave that surrounded the island. But my earlier happy moments were suddenly taken back from me. The sight of me wanting to release my resentment seemed to add even more to what I was carrying. "Fayra..." Rose said my name in surprise while she's slowly moving to my husband's back. It's like she's scared of me or something. That's funny. My smile disappeared, I felt like I was going to fall off my feet when I heard my name from my rival's mouth.

“Say it again.” “I love you.” He slammed into me again, groaning, and holding my body like it was the only thing keeping him grounded. We came together that time, our bodies locked and hearts racing. He collapsed beside me, both of us gasping, our skin slick and sticky with sweat. No words were spoken, just the sound of two hearts that knew they’d gone too far. But fuck, it felt too good to regret. Hours passed and the sky outside darkened, which dimmed the room and I woke first.

TRISTAN FIVE YEARS LATER I’d spent every day, all this time, regretting it. The burden of guilt never weighed any less. Each time I closed my eyes, I was tormented over and over again, without mercy. By that soft, oval face framed with the most striking ginger hair. By those captivating sea-green eyes. By those lips that had tasted like strawberry and honey all at once. By that impossible music of her laughter. By those soft gasps and moans she uttered when I fucked her all night.

[Chorus: Jungkook, RM, Suga, Jimin, J-Hope] Another trophy, my hands carry 'em Too many that I can't even count 'em (turn it up now) Mic drop, mic drop Careful of your feet, careful of what you say Somebody stop me, I'm 'boutta pop off Too busy, you know my body ain't enough (turn it up now) Mic drop, mic drop Careful of your feet, careful of what you say [Verse 3: RM] Baby, watch your mouth (mouth), it come back around (round) Once upon a time (time), we learned how to fly (fly) Go look at your mirror, same damn clothes (git) You know how I feel, 개행복 (turn up)

I suggested, eager to steer the conversation away from the matrimonial topic. "Can we sing 'Mary Had a Little Lamb'?" Julia's eyes gleamed with a spark of hope. "Absolutely," I chuckled, launching into a slightly off-key rendition of the nursery rhyme, hoping it would lull them into a peaceful sleep, filled with dreams of a happy, whole family. "Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb..." The butchered rendition of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" died a mercifully quick death. Halfway through the first verse, the melody dissolving into something resembling a strangled cat, the twins erupted in a fit of giggles.

Soon anger simmered quickly in her chest. She dialed his number again and to her surprise, the call connected this time. “Anthony…” her voice nearly crackled. She calmed her nerves, maintaining the strength in her voice. “Where are you? I've been calling you for two days!” “I'm at a motel. Is there a problem?” Her brows quickly drew into a frown. “What'd you mean is there a problem?” She couldn't believe her ears. “Where are you? We need to talk.”
