This actually touches on one of my favorite deep-dive activities in the Twilight fandom. Finding fics centered on, say, Emmett, Rosalie, Esme, or Carlisle—rather than the relentless Edward/Bella or Jacob focus—requires a bit of a shift in search strategy. A lot of the big general-purpose sites like FanFiction.Net or AO3 can feel overwhelming if you just search 'Twilight'. The tags are your absolute lifeline here. On Archive of Our Own, I'll filter the 'Twilight - All Media Types' fandom tag, then dive into the 'Additional Tags' section or the character filters. Searching tags like 'Emmett Cullen-Centric', 'Rosalie Hale POV', or 'Cullen Family Feels' can surface some real gems. Another trick is to look for authors who are known for writing about the side characters; sometimes they have entire series dedicated to exploring the pre-Forks lives of the Cullens. I stumbled across a fantastic, almost slice-of-life series a while back that was entirely from Esme's perspective, dealing with her motherhood and the quiet moments between battles. That kind of thing rarely hits the front page.
Don't overlook niche communities either, though they're harder to find these days. Some dedicated forums or even specific Discord servers for 'Twilight Renaissance' fans often have curated rec lists. The challenge is that a lot of fic from the late 2000s/early 2010s is scattered on smaller, now-defunct sites, so using the Wayback Machine on old fansites or LJ communities can be a treasure trove for archived stuff. I also find that filtering OUT the main pairing tags sometimes helps; excluding 'Edward/Bella' and 'Bella/Jacob' can force the algorithm to show you what's left, which is often the family-centric or rare-pair content. The quality varies wildly, but the characterization depth for someone like Carlisle, when done right, is so much more interesting to me than another high school rehash.
