For now, this was enough.
We stayed for the hour until sunset, laying together as colors deepened around us, shifting from gold to fiery orange, then to a rich, burning crimson. Finally, the sun slipped away, leaving behind a trail of twilight. Stars winked into existence, misty at first, then bolder as the last remnants of sunlight vanished. Terri let out a sad sigh. I couldn’t help but compare what had just unfolded to my time with her. It was a metaphor. So beautiful, mystical, magical, but over in just a blink.
