“Do you think it’s haunted?” My breath sticks in my chest at her words. Before I can say anything, Jack laughs. “Don’t be stupid. Of course it isn’t haunted.” “Some people think it is,” I counter. “There have always been stories about this place, about the swamp.” The woman pauses as an uneasy shadow flickers across her delicate features. “What kind of stories?” she presses. Jack once again cuts me off. “Who gives a shit?” he chuckles. “Ghosts, witches, werewolves–that’s all kid stuff. The only thing we should be afraid of is the IRS.”

Finally, he said: “Guys, there’s something I need to tell you.” It sounded like a confession, especially because they were in the middle of a heave-to and near bedtime, but a confession upon the mention of the Nagas could only mean something terrible. Though curious, Aki wasn’t sure if she was ready to listen to a scary story. Sasha began his story innocently enough:

She didn't want to hear anymore of the frightening story. "Don't tell me you're all scared. It's a myth, I made it up!" John smirked, his eyes gazing at the scared faces of his girlfriend and friends. "Ha ha ha, scared? I've never been scared of anything in my life!" Rocky roared in laughter as he rose from the ground. "Scary stories don't scare me. I'm gonna pee!" He uttered still grinning. "Don't wander far into the woods, you never know who you'll meet." John warned in a playful but spooky voice.

Travis said softly. I nodded, almost grateful — but pride stopped me from agreeing out loud. I wasn’t going to let a stupid horror movie scare me off a night out with him. “Why would we leave? The movie isn’t even over,” I said, trying to sound confident. He smirked. “Oh, so you’re not scared yet?” I frowned at him. “Why would I be?” Travis just grinned like he knew a secret. Suddenly, the screen showed the orphan girl pulling out the heart of a boy and eating it. My scream burst out before I could stop it, loud and raw.

Frank nodded, and they were soon back at the flatlands. Before they arrived, they could hear noisy footsteps but found nothing when they went closer! They soon found Tigris and his men huddled together outside the tents, looking around while trembling. "What happened?" Frank asked, hurrying toward him. Tigris almost broke into tears. "Can't you hear the footsteps? They're so close, but we can't see anyone! This place is really haunted!" His men were all nodding and sweating down their backs. "Haunted? Not likely!"

“She never had any reason to tell the story again.” Lady Walter stood on her feet. “Nobody really tells the story of Rogues anymore. It’s too scary for children. Now we tell the pups about your boogeymen to scare them into growing their claws faster.” There was a ridiculing smile on her face as she walked by Kihara and disappeared into the hallway.

He added, "I've told you that wasting food is strictly prohibited in our factory. If you don't want to end up like her, you'd better eat up." I watched them coldly as they trembled, slowly lifting the covers off their plates. Almost immediately, their horrified screams filled the air. On their plates were arms, thighs, and fingers. There were enough body parts to form a whole person. Only then did I realize they weren't as scary as I had thought. It turned out that even those stronger than me could still feel fear. Right then, I spoke up, trying to sound braver than I felt. "Each part tastes different. If you're curious, you can swap pieces and try each other's."

– Skyler asks. “The stories say that elves are tall and beautiful. I don't think it's an elf. I would say it’s a fairy.” "You're kidding, right? Fairies don't exist. There is nothing about fairies except in human children's books. It must be an insect, and the screams come from somewhere else.” “It’s the creature who screams. It seems trapped in a web.” Skyler and the wolf have to make a decision. Whatever it was, it was trapped and about to be eaten by a giant spider.
