“Umbriel, it’s already late,” he said, dismissing her with a flicker of authority. “Leave. Grandpa Charles, Uncle Cyrus, I’ll meet with you two tomorrow.”
Umbriel’s fists curled into her gown, knuckles whitening as she squeezed the fabric. Her glare cut at me one last time, dripping with disdain, before she gave a stiff nod and stormed out of the castle halls, her footsteps echoing long after she was gone.
