The suppressant. This was my latest formulation, the one that had saved three wolves from the brink of infection in just the past month. Their blood had thickened and darkened with a corrupt strain that had been quietly spreading through the lower ranks of the pack. I had witnessed its effects firsthand, almost like a miracle — fevers breaking and tremors calming within hours. But I had never used it on him. Not once. His blood was older, and his body was slower to react to anything. There was a possibility that what had worked wonders for those young wolves might do nothing for an older one, or worse, trigger an unforeseen reaction.

The world outside moved on as if nothing had happened but for Sarah, time had shattered just like the wine glass she had dropped the night before. She sat in her small apartment, numb, as the city buzzed beyond her window. The betrayal still clawed at her chest, a relentless ache she couldn't shake. She had spent the night tossing and turning, replaying James’ cruel words over and over. "You never matched my status." "Chloe does." Sarah’s fingers tightened around the coffee mug in her hands. She had given that man everything, her loyalty, her trust, her damn heart, only to be tossed aside like she was nothing.

“I didn’t do it! Please, Mom, I swear to you!” Luna Arissa’s expression hardened, contempt written all over her face. “I have no use for your pathetic lies. You have betrayed us, Bella. You are no longer my daughter.” I fell to my knees, shock shaking my whole body. “Mom, please! I’m begging you!” I pleaded, my voice choked with desperation.

In that instant, the last shred of hope died. I turned back to the bed and took out the silver box from my birth pack. Opening it, I laid out everything needed for the Moon Eclipse Unbinding – moon-blessed water, silver dust, bark from the sacred tree, and most importantly – the blood-oath rune we'd exchanged when we mated. Arranging everything, I began to chant the ancient words. "Moon Goddess, bear witness. When love turns to betrayal, when vows become lies, I ask your permission to undo this bond that is no longer sacred…"

He likes to act tough and argue, but in the end, he always gives us whatever we want. The only exception to that is if he feels like it’s too dangerous. Which apparently is everything I want to do outside of our pack or the surrounding towns. I know that I’m different. On my first birthday, the moon goddess blessed me with a unique mark on my right hip. No one knows exactly what it means. Some people think it’s a prophecy mark, and that I’m destined for some kind of greatness. Other people think the mark and my powers are a blessing for my family’s role in taking down an evil pack.

“Okay I'm not leaving. I was just here until the food I was cooking for Uno burned. I'm just here." “Ah, I'm Blessy. You’re just there with Zerus and it looks like my friend really needs you! ” From the door, Uno's head peeked out and he was carrying a spoon.
