Uncle Greg is manipulative and narcissistic, always in one trouble or the other and my dad is always the one bailing him out.

And somehow my so-called father knows that this is the reason why I always reason with exams and assignments and stay in, sending them. I didn’t want to invite Freddy in, nor am I okay with him being around me. Uncle Freddy is a forty year old bachelor who has been working with that monster who calls himself my father. In all these years, I've seen Freddy only for a few times and those few times were enough for me to know why he doesn’t have a family for himself.

But my attention was drawn away anyway by the sound of a snort nearby. I looked over to see an older and rather unattractive Lycan man staring at me with a glass of whiskey in his hand. “There’s the mail-order bride,” he said to the equally-as-old-and-ugly man next to him. The other man chortled, his eyes flicking over my dress. “She’s certainly dressed like one, brother.” Isaac bristled beside me. “Ignore them,” he said, tugging on my arm. “That’s my great-uncle Fenn and his twin, Lester. They’re both jacka—”

--- My cousin, Isadora, approaches me with open arms. "My niece."--- My Uncle Henry approached, wrapping me in a tight hug, kissing my hair.--- "Uncle just fried shrimp for you, little one." "My favorite."--- I celebrated watching him agree with his head. "You are the best."--- I hugged him, watching his smug smile.--- "Just don't let Uncle Ronaldo know that." "Too late."--- He denied with his head.---" Oh Ronaldo, I am the best." He celebrated by picking on my other uncle, moving closer to him. I nodded, approaching the wood stove, stealing a shrimp from the pan, feeling my uncle slap my hand at that moment.

The light in our house dimmed forever. The triplets : Caspian, Silas, and Soren — were only sixteen back then, but they stepped up without hesitation. They called me their Little Star. They promised to protect me from every shadow. For years, they kept that promise. Caspian’s quiet strength made me feel safe. Silas’s steady presence grounded me. Soren’s warm laughter and playful affection made me feel truly alive. I loved them with every piece of my young heart. They weren’t just my guardians — they were my world.
