She frowned at me, and I looked away. "It isn't a suspect, just someone I believe might be in trouble for it," I said, and she sighed.

I explain to her "Oh he hooked up with another bitch??? Was she beautiful?" I quirked my eyebrow at her. "Do I look like an investigator to you?? Why would you ask me about his girlfriend.? My goodness, woman. Did you hit yourself on your way here? Or something?" I said as I asked suspiciously, trying to get a look on her head to soothe or rather clear my suspicion. “And you waited until now to tell me?” I shrug my shoulders. “Sorry.” “Where are we going to go?” she asks. I shrug my shoulders again. “He didn’t say.” A noise from down the hall catches our attention, silencing us. We duck down behind the counter and listen for movement beyond the kitchen. In another room, we hear a light flick on. “Alazaer may be right, Gray,” Bo says. Gray huffs in response. “You think I haven’t thought about that? Do you honestly think that I have gone this long- waited until it was this bad to consider that?”

“I need to read some of the test samples that I have been experimenting with. Call me when you can….” “I love-” before Megan could finish her last words the line was disconnected. “Your father?” Rowena asked. A curious look could be seen in her eyes. Megan smiled and joined her on the bed. She sat down and with a flop, her upper body was resting on the mattress. “There is problem?” Megan looked at the ceiling, if you looked at it closely, there was a certain pattern to it. She finally dared to voice her fear. “What will happen if Serena dies?”

Then I nodded looking away and felt being pulled in asset of arms which was just disappointment because it was James. “I shouldn’t have doubted you, and I will continue to be your driver as a punishment, even now with my job finished here. I just… just didn’t understand why didn’t you tell me about your Dad when you revealed your family’s plan. And it is in my job description to doubt. Next time, it will not happen. Maybe it will but then you are too kind hearted to forgive me.” He said shrugging and I hugged him sighing. “Just take care of my sister and everything will be forgiven.” I whispered and he hugged me tightly.

Then she closed the case with a snap. “I suspect a lot of things,” she replied quietly. “But suspicion means nothing until it’s proven. And proof…” She glanced back at the blank screen. “Proof is what gets people killed.” I clenched my fists. “Then why send me to kill him if you’re not even sure?” I demanded. “Why now? Why him?” Her expression didn’t change, but her voice lost its chill, just for a second.

But beneath it all, the current was shifting, restless, impossible to ignore. Lucas was watching me. Not in the way a lover admires, but like a man who feels something is out of place and cannot quite name it. His questions had grown sharper, his silences more loaded. He lingered on details most would dismiss: the way I returned calls later than usual, the faint trace of cologne not his own, the subtle tension etched into my body when Adrian’s name slipped into conversation. Every time his gaze lingered on me, I felt the burn of suspicion simmering just beneath the warmth of his expression. He was waiting—like a predator circling, biding his time.

We have a suspicion about who sent the flowers. But suspicion isn’t proof, and this person is careful. We need to dig deeper before we move.” Susan’s expression tightened. “So the danger isn’t coming to an end anytime soon?” “No,” Daniel said plainly. “It isn’t.” She looked back toward Aria’s room, fear flickering across her face before she masked it. “Then what happens now?”
