FATED TO HEAL
The name alone was enough to stir unease, but I couldn’t afford to hesitate.
The hours blurred into a relentless rhythm: the steady thud of my horse’s hooves, the sharp bite of the wind, the unending expanse of trees and hills. Breaks were brief, stolen moments to drink water or stretch aching limbs. My horse, loyal and uncomplaining, pressed onward.
Finally, after a full day of travel, I reached the edge of Kree. My breath caught as I took in the sight before me.
The kingdom was surrounded by a vast expanse of water, its shimmering surface reflecting the pale light of the moon. A single bridge connected the mainland to the distant city walls, but it was raised, leaving an impassable gap.
