Her smile was bittersweet, but for once, she finally felt seen. Deep beneath the fortress, far below the bustling kitchens and the quiet residential wings, lay the subterranean geothermal vaults. Here, the air was thick with the scent of sulfur, wet limestone, and crushed eucalyptus, warmed by the natural volcanic veins that ran beneath the glen. The cave spring pool was a massive, jagged basin of turquoise water, its surface cloaked in a lazy, rolling mist that caught the faint, ethereal glow of the crystal clusters embedded in the high cavern ceiling.

If Kael hadn’t known exactly where it was, we would’ve walked right past it. He pulled the plants aside, revealing a narrow entrance. "Come on. It's better inside." I followed him through the opening, and the space widened into a natural cave. Smooth stone walls curved around us, and a small opening high above let in the soft evening light. “It’s beautiful,” I whispered.. "It's safe. That's what matters." Kael set down his pack. "There's a back exit through that tunnel, and a spring for fresh water. We'll be comfortable here."

Ray took control and shifted, grabbed the duffel bag, and headed for the lake. Our run would take approximately thirty minutes to arrive at the lake and an additional ten minutes or so to reach the secret cave situated at the base of the mountain, but the trip through the tunnels was unknown. I could not contain my excitement, as I anticipated seeing Zara's surprised but shocked expression. Is she going to be pleased to see me? ****

I feel an odd feeling that we’re moving downward, somehow going deeper underground. The torchlight begins to bleed with a soft amber glow ahead of us, which is obstructed by Westfall’s body while we navigate the tunnel. But then he steps down, and a massive cavern comes into view, stalactites spiraling from the ceiling of the biggest underground cave I’ve ever seen in my life.

“It is just the way it panned out.” I nodded and drifted closer to him as we reached the spot. Dune and Apollo raised their hands in greeting and gestured to the cave entrance that was trucked behind some trees and a tower of stone. It was small, and hardly useable, but if Armageddon could make it bigger, it wouldn’t be a big deal.

The crevice of the cave reached its end and from there it spread out, revealing a massive sanctuary that had cobalt blue stones as foothold, loots of treasure sporadically placed in bulks and in the pivot was an alter, the alter was huge and on it was a majestic serpentine.

“Sea caves?” He leaned forward, lowering his voice as if sharing a secret. “There’s a secluded cove, just a short boat ride from here. Locals call it the Aphrodite Caves. The water glows in shades of sapphire and gold when the sun hits, and the acoustics…” His grin widened. “Let’s just say, everything feels… amplified.” Angela laughed, narrowing her eyes playfully. “Amplified, hm? This sounds suspiciously like a line.”

Leo nodded to Nick and Anthony and they nodded back before taking off after them. Once she got in the realm, she ignored all the looks she was getting and let Jochelo lead her to ändu. Anna's husband saw them from afar and feeling something was amis, followed after them. On arrival, she saw that ändu was a desolate and sandy area. It was a mini desert with an old and dilapidated building in the center, almost completely swallowed by the sand. They went in. It was rundown and old. The perfect hide out.
