My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. So for right now, it is a goodbye unit next month. Sorry for the delay. -L.N.F

The man's daughter, tiptoed as he bent over for her to reach Axe, her small fingers reaching out to touch Axe's bruised arm, whispered, "It's okay, mister. Papa will take care of you." ‘I came here to find a kid to raise into an indomitable bodyguard that will be loyal to you for life, and yet you chose such a weakling and useless thing?’ Chairman Blade thought, staring down at Axe and then at the worried way his daughter glanced at him, her tiny hand holding onto hid dirty ones as tears trickled down her peachy cheeks.

Imelda’s POV I immediately recognised the dagger in Gabe as one of the thirteen I created many, many years ago. He has no idea how fortunate he is that I was there to remove it. Nuntius blades are connected to their creator and whomever they wish to receive the message inside and only they can remove it from a body. It sounds barbaric now but back when the witch hunts were at their peak they became a life line for so many of us. The way a Nuntius blade works is simple but effective. Not every witch has the necessary powers to create such an intricate and complex tool and as far as I’m aware there were only a handful of us, from the most powerful covens, who successfully used them.

“I just can't ignore an injured person. It will damage your muscles soon and cause paralysis if it isn't treated immediately.” He didn't respond right away. The wind picked up again, brushing against the leaves and carrying his scent past me in another wave.

There was a variety of equipment inside, including a treadmill, stationary bike, and rowing machine, as well as a variety of free weights. “Well, Robyn, does it meet your standards?” he asked me, and I couldn’t tell if he was truly curious or if he was making fun of me. “It’s fine. Thanks.” He had been nice enough to show me the way, so I dug down deep and tried again. “Have a good day at work.”

“That’s classified.” She arched her brow. “Classified? Really?” He only smirked, eyes glinting in the faint light. “Then what about you and Jaylen?” she pressed. “How did you meet him? Why do you trust him so much?” Blade’s smile faltered, just slightly. “Work.” “What kind of work?” He was quiet for a long time. When he spoke, his voice had lost its humor. “I was on a mission. Things went south. I got shot, left behind. He found me before anyone else did.”

And I nodded, understanding that maybe it was time to let go of my attachment to this house once and for all. “Sorry Gran, but I quit for the day!” Blade shouted as he walked back into the living room, the back of his shirt looking wet from sweating after carrying around boxes and furniture all day long. The man looked as if he had gone through hell and back. Clearly, he never worked hard a day in his life. Apparently, I had spoiled my siblings way too hard from what I was seeing now. Blade turned to me, a mischievous glint in his eye. “Hey, why don’t we take the scenic route back home?” Blade winked at me.

“For your birthday. After that he’ll return to school.” Blade was my younger brother. A twenty year old with very little control over his powers. Unlike me, Blade did not come out as part vampire. He was part wolf, part snake. Not just any snake, mind you. My brother was a Reinio snake. A powerful specie that could easily kill as they had little or no self-control.
