Due to the sudden attack, the academy suspended classes and sent the students home for a break. But the following day, Bailey began behaving oddly. She seemed like a completely different person, constantly craving food and consuming everything in sight. She ate every morsel of food she could find in her home. When everything was gone, she began consuming raw ingredients. Whether it was uncooked potatoes, vegetables, or even raw meat dripping with blood, she ate anything she could find.

It wasn’t loud. It didn’t howl. It simply… moved. A slow stretch. A cautious awakening. Fear slammed into Bailey so hard she gasped. “No.” Her voice shook. “No. No. No.” She had worked too hard to build this life. Too hard to forget. She would not let destiny ruin her again. Bailey had somehow managed to get herself home before her and clearly spun some kind of story to explain her injury, one that definitely didn't involve the truth, because if it did, her brother wouldn't be glaring at her right now. "I swear I'm going to kill that disgusting bitch! I will send her to hell!" Bailey's voice came again, even louder this time, practically shaking with fury.

Coach B’s voice tore through the awkward silence as he quickly stepped forward and offered Bailey a handshake. “It's good to meet you. Somehow she held herself together, in the public eye anyway. "Bailey." Alexander finally said. "His name would be Bailey." Alexander wasn't sure why he answered. He wasn't sure why 'Bailey' had to be a separate person to him. Why he had imagined Bailey so many times as him, and yet they were still so separate. Separate people, with different lives. Now though, Bailey started to seem more real. That terrified Alexander. He was afraid that he would become too absorbed into the possibility of 'Bailey' when it was so clear that 'Bailey' was just a fantasy.

Ian asked in a frosty tone. Bailey was stunned before she finally realized that Ian was talking to her. She felt like she might end up in trouble if she didn't leave soon. Bailey laughed awkwardly. "Um, I-I have my own place, Uncle Ian. I'll see myself out, then." She turned to give Eunice a helpless look, saying quietly, "Take care, Eunie." She then quickly fled the apartment. Eunice was speechless. Did she just get abandoned?

Bailey whispered something under her breath that sounded nothing like English. My phone buzzed again. Colton. Do not open the back door. Too late, I thought dizzily. Another message appeared. Bailey?
