I tried to yank my arm away, but I couldn't move an inch. The elder saw my struggle and his face twisted into a scowl. He told her to stop whatever nonsense she was doing. "Unhand the stone, girl! Do not disrespect the artifact with your games!" I couldn't respond. The heat was climbing up my arm, turning from a jolt into a searing flame that raced through my veins. The red light vanished in an instant, and suddenly, the next moment a bright royal blue light made everywhere light.
