Reluctantly, I pulled the book away from his grasp, seeing how hard he was clenching at it. From a glance, you could tell that this was a normal book. That is, if you knew nothing about the supernatural world. The blank insides though... that unnerved me for some reason. Jake could've made a wrong pick and this book might just be an empty journal, but something about the book drew me to it for some reason.

I scolded myself and groaned, thinking that perhaps entering Ash's room wasn't the wisest of all ideas. I forced myself to turn around and shift my gaze to the bookshelf. Figuring that something light to read in Ash's room would help me kill the boredom, I started going through some of the old books he kept there.
