She said, her words jumbled up but it was clear enough. "If they want to use mindless wolves to defeat an army, how will they control them?" Gwen asked a valid question. "They will embed a microchip in their heads. Once the deed is done, they will blow their heads off." She said, and I was utterly shocked at how brutal these people were. "What country is this?" Gwen asked her.

Updating my prior review but if you all aren’t reading this story, YOU’RE NUTS! With characters you love, hate, and love to hate, this story has it all. Betrayal, smut, intrigue, a bit more smut and smoking hot leads, I ate this story up. Read it! Totally worth the coins! You won’t regret reading!

I really enjoyed this book, and the characters in it. The plots were complex and kept me guessing. Imagine my surprise when I came all the way to the end and discovered the book was never finished! There apparently haven’t been any updates in over 6 months. Very disappointing.

He appeared a few seconds later, his hair still damp and a grin on his face. “Hey, Wrath, good to see you,” Rebel said. “We’re having church, but out here. Get the sweet butts to the basement rooms. All members and prospects present for this one,” Nitro said. “Got it,” Rebel said and left as quietly as he had appeared. Nitro turned toward Whitney and gave her a dazzling smile. “Welcome to the Road Warrior’s clubhouse. A friend of Wrath’s is a friend of ours.” “Thank you,” she said softly.

Ang gasped and said, "Wow! These are gorgeous. Carson did good!" Once we had the gifts, we walked back to the truck I had borrowed from the Warrior training center. Ang said, "Thank you for this. I really want to do something to support Carson and Celly. But I'm so confused. I thought Carson was going to be Celly's fated mate. But this morning, he told me he would wait for Celly to go to college. What fated mate would wait? I mean a chosen mate, yeah, I understand, wait because Celly would say no anyway. But the way Carson acts, I thought he had to be her fated mate. And has he considered that Celly will have a fated mate and if he waits, Celly will find him and then Carson won't be able to

*Aidan Zavia's POV* --- I yawned and stretched my whole body as I just woke up from a lovely dream with my lovely girlfriend. And, a smirk formed on my face when I opened my phone and found a text message from her. "Good morning, my annoying ray of sunshine! I woke up first, better luck next time, Zav. 8/5. I'll just see you later. ;*" I read her message and I chuckled.

We just laughed at what happened and we looked at Maine this time. "Do I really have to introduce myself?" As she points herself. "Of course, girl, you know we always do this to other people." says Maxine "Maine Sanchez, hi." That was dry, but oh well they are childhood friends. We just all laughed and enjoyed the snacks we have. As the night is getting deeper, we all must go home, because there is still school tomorrow. Ughhh why can't school come by fast? One by one we went on our separate ways. Ella commuted towards the other end of the city; Maxine was picked up by one of their luxurious cars. I am not envious, no... maybe a little. It was just me, Maine and Joshua left. We waited at the

@Mia: @Grace @Leah let's just do it, make her body thin all of a sudden hahaha. Grace, Leah, and Mia used twitter to release their evil thoughts that had been running through their heads when Evie was first elected to the seminar committee. They held back the thoughts, but the embankment holding them back collapsed at the sight of Grace's chirping. One thing they forgot that night: everyone on their timeline saw all their tweets. People who agree with them will find their tweets funny and entertaining. However, those who don't agree will really regret their tweets. However, the worst thing is: Evie is one of their followers and she cries while reading their tweets.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reading 'The Unwinding' feels like flipping through a scrapbook of America’s recent past, where the 'characters' aren’t fictional but real people whose lives trace the fractures in the country’s social fabric. George Packer weaves together vignettes of ordinary and extraordinary figures—from Dean Price, a struggling entrepreneur chasing the American Dream in rural North Carolina, to Tammy Thomas, a factory worker in Ohio witnessing industrial collapse. Then there’s Jeff Connaughton, a D.C. insider whose disillusionment with politics becomes a recurring theme. The book’s brilliance lies in how these personal stories intersect with broader narratives about systemic failure, like the 2008 financial crisis or the opioid epidemic.

What sticks with me isn’t just their individual struggles but how Packer portrays them as collateral damage in a larger 'unwinding' of institutions. Dean’s relentless optimism despite bankruptcy, Tammy’s resilience after job losses, and Jeff’s cynical exit from politics—they all feel like pieces of a mosaic. Even the occasional cameos from figures like Silicon Valley’s Peter Thiel add layers to this tapestry. It’s less about traditional protagonists and more about collective voices echoing the same question: 'How did we get here?'
