A pair of strong, scarred arms wrapped gently around Alessia’s waist from behind.
Valerie pressed her forehead against the space between Alessia’s shoulder blades, letting out a soft, sleepy breath. She had discarded her tactical Kevlar for a comfortable, oversized grey shirt. Without her weapons and leather jackets, she looked soft, beautiful, and entirely at peace.
"You're thinking too loud again," Valerie murmured, her voice thick with sleep. She leaned up, planting a soft, lingering kiss on the uninjured side of Alessia’s neck.
