The vampire glanced at me, his expression cold and knowing, then bowed again. “Yes, sire.”
He stepped back, turned, and walked away.
The moment he disappeared around the corner, Perth’s hand shot out. He grabbed me by the collar and shoved me back into the room. The door slammed shut behind him.
Before I could regain my balance, his fingers hooked under my chin, jerking my head up so I had no choice but to look at him.
“I told you to sit here and behave,” he said softly. Soft, but dangerous. “Why did I come back to find you meddling in other people’s business?”
