Anvi was lying on her bed. She was not feeling well. Like Vanshika, she too got a fever. She got up from the bed and opened her cupboard. She took out a book which was on hunters. She closed the cupboard. Anvi sat on her bed and opened the book. She read a few pages, then read something she hadn't read before. Anvi read, "If a vampire turns a hunter into a vampire, then that vampire will die within thirty days."

They both went down in a tangle of limbs. Three more hunters appeared. These were better trained. They moved as a unit, two with silver nets, one with a flamethrower. The one with the flamethrower fired, and I barely dodged as a jet of fire scorched the air where I'd been standing. Fire. Vampires hated fire almost as much as UV light. One of Jaxon's wolves, a smaller brown one, leaped over me and slammed into the hunter with the flamethrower. The weapon went flying, spraying fire across the ceiling. Sprinklers activated immediately, drenching the room in water.

I pointed this out to Gwendoline and she smiled faintly. “If he has more blood will they heal completely?” I asked. “Within seconds,” she said. “Where does he usually get his blood?” I asked hesitantly. “He hunts deer or wolf. Large animals are generally the best,” she replied. “No humans,” I mused admiringly. “Verso vampires refrain from drinking human blood whenever possible. The risk of developing an addiction is too great,” she explained. “We live peacefully amongst ourselves and rarely venture out into the rawness of what’s left of our planet. An addiction to human blood would require they leave Verso.”

Why hadn’t I noticed that before? The feel of my nipples hardening in response to my body’s discovery that my boarder was a sexy hottie reminded me that I was wearing a flimsy tee shirt with no bra. I got up and without hesitation kicked the cage, it was destroyed and the fire immediately spread around. In what way I destroyed it with the useless fire in my hands I do not know. I just know that I am so angry right now that I want to burn them alive until they turn into ashes. When I got out I threw fire at the vampires before charging in, Hunter was getting too many kills.
