I heard the new maids, who are all vampires, will be arriving tomorrow, so I'm hoping they won't be the ones to kill me. I shook my head; now was not the time for that. I need to concentrate on my strategy and come up with something that will help change this family for the better. "Right," I said to myself, nodding. I was about to knock on Miss Ashley's door when I noticed it was half open. When I peered inside, I gasped and held my breath, unable to move. She and Sir Daryl are kissing, and miss Ashley's neck is covered in blood.

Then he spotted Julia, he stopped and just seemed surprised. Even I was confused as to how he looked astonished when he looked down, and why he acted that way. "What happened to you, bro?" I asked as soon as I glanced, I can see my hand was still holding hers. I reverted it immediately because I was uncomfortable and didn't want my friend Derek Jones to think something else. "Anyway, this is Julia Avery," I said, "She's our new next-door neighbor. Julia, this is my friend, Derek Jones," I said as I gazed towards her.

The next morning, as Trent stood in front of the kitchen window drinking his coffee, he debated whether or not to close the blinds. He looked across the yard towards his neighbor’s house. It appeared empty. With a small shrug, he decided to keep the blinds as they were. She had probably got bored of watching him at that point. He was something new. Trent understood that, just as he knew he wasn’t the most exciting person.

So he nodded. “I will wait until your return,” he said. “I have a gift for you,” she said softly, just as hell broke loose in the entrance of his mansion. The yell of one of his vampires was heard as a woosh of brightness entered the pool room, three of his people turning to ash in seconds as a silver stake streaked through the air. “Mavery, you lied!!” came the yell of a woman in all black as she rushed forward, as another of his vampires trying to stop her entrance went down.

Then the doorbell rang. I opened the door to find Arielle and her mother. 'Oh no. She's here to confront me,' I thought. "Sorry to bother you," Arielle's mother said. "We just moved in next door." Still rattled, I answered, "Hello. I'm Neil Gates." "Here's the thing—I have to go on a business trip for a week. My daughter… isn't quite right in the head." She tapped her temple. "Could you possibly look after her? I'd really appreciate it."

Matteo stepped into a dark hallway, with candles flickering along the walls. His short blond hair was neatly combed back, and his blue eyes scanned the area until they found a black coffin sitting in the middle of the room. He walked over and gently lifted the lid. Inside, the vampire Vlad was fast asleep, his eyes closed and his hands resting on his chest. Matteo knew Vlad hated being woken up, but this couldn't wait. He sharpened his claws and sliced open his own palm, letting his blood drip onto Vlad's lips.

“Did you also get a typo in your message? Like, did he tell you your room mate's a man?” “No. It clearly stated Serena Lowell. Children's book illustrator and introvert.” He recited. “It's Donahue. Serena Donahue.” I snapped. He paused, then shrugged. “Whatever, sweetheart.” “Shit! Just my luck.” He opened the fridge. "Want a beer?" I closed my eyes and inhaled slowly. "This is a nightmare." "Nope," he said, cracking the can open. "This is your new reality. Welcome home, roomie."

He was confused and so was Nick. Tyler sent them a tight smile as he held out his glass of whiskey and took a sip from it. His face was expressionless just like most times. Turning toward the men, he said in an overly bored and dry tone, his voice lacking any interest. “And that is my next-door neighbor, people. Shouldn't we be excited?”

"Wakey wakey, you lazy bloodsucker. You have visitors." Blood sucker? I gulped at the thought of meeting another vampire who wasn't Nadia. She was pretty chill compared to other vamps, and there was the fact that her family specifically stayed away from drinking human blood, instead relying on their emotions. I subconsciously hid myself behind Jin as he walked further into the garage. Just when I was about to grab his shoulder and ask him to take us out of there, an eerie chill went down my spine. "Why, what do we have here?"

Balancing the tray onto one palm, I reach the other to open the door whilst fussing over the unstable tray mocking my strength. "I brought you your meal, and I hope you have an appetite now...." My voice trails off and the door continues to expand open inwards from my push. What has my eyes expanding with the gravest shock that freezes the blood pumping in my veins, is the gruesome scene of the crimson-haired stranger feasting savagely on the neck of a palling and faintly struggling woman in a growing pool of blood on the floor. He's a Vampire!
