I reached for the cup and took a sip. The knock on the door broke the silence. Victor pushed off from the counter. "I'll get it." I sat back. It was probably a delivery. I turned and looked out the window, the fine petals of tulips outside was enough as a sight. I didn’t know Victor liked flowers – there was almost nothing I knew about him, and knowing that made yesterday night only more dangerous. The delivery guy was taking too long. I stood up and walked toward the door, then paused when I heard the oddly familiar voice.

On her way back, just as she pulled into the driveway, she accidentally bumped into her two vampire neighbors. As expected, they had the distinctive traits of vampires—green eyes, flawless physiques, handsome faces, and pale skin. Based on her knowledge, Vienna assumed the taller one was of a higher rank, with the other likely being his assistant, since vampires rarely traveled alone. She pretended not to notice them and continued walking. But the taller one waved and smiled at her. “Oh, hi! New neighbor—nice to meet you. Vampires could sense pretty well human emotions. She took a dazed glance at my lips then refocused back on my eyes. "N-no there would be more than fine." With that, she hopped on her bed and grabbed her laptop making me frown while watching her silently.

I went to the living room and that was when i realized the music wasn't coming from my house but from the house next door. What the actual hell? I opened my door and could even hear the music more clearly, not even music, it was noise. I was actually bare footed but I didn't care because all I wanted was a good nap and nothing was going to get in the way of that. I walked over to the next flat and knocked on the door, there was no response and i used my two hands to bang on the door again.

After feeding, Vladimir cleans himself; as I clean myself up, Vladimir clears his throat. “Tomorrow, I’ll take you around the forest,” Vladimir said.

Jezza, Melanie, and I wait until after curfew, then tiptoe down the hallway under an invisibility spell that Jezza crafted. We make our way up to Gwen's dorm room. In the hallway, two vamps come around the corner and my breath stills in my chest. "You smell something?" he asks the other one. "Only chocolate and popcorn.
