The Obsidian Throne Room was quiet except for the soft crackle of black candles and the occasional drip of wax onto marble. Elias Nightshade lounged in the massive chair carved from volcanic glass and bone, one leg draped lazily over the armrest, a crystal goblet of blood wine balanced on his fingers. The liquid inside swirled slow and dark, spiced with something older than most of his court could remember. To anyone who didn’t know him, he would have looked like a king at ease, beautiful in that deadly way vampires were, midnight hair falling loose around sharp cheekbones, crimson eyes half lidded, lips stained red.

He noticed that there was a small table between the two of them, with a bottle of wine and two glasses on it. "I didn't know vampires could drink wine. I thought you only drank fresh blood." Alex asked, already knowing that the wine bottle contained fresh human blood. "Wine? Hahaha. If you're half-human and half-vampire, you don't drink wine, let alone us! Come on, you must know what's in that bottle." Lucius offered as he picked up the bottle and opened it. "I do know what's in it, but my answer is still no. No, thank you. I don't drink something like that." Alex politely refused.

“I curse the day I found this place.” “He doesn’t mean that.” Kahn brings the bottle to his lips. “He’s just hurting right now.” “Thank you, Kahn,” I snap. “I’m pretty smart, you know. I don’t need a narrator.” The vampire puts his bottle down and hands the spiced wine to Preston and me. “You should drink this. It helps.” “Helps with what?” I ask. “I’m not a healer, but we’ve had it since we’ve learned how to make wine.” The vampire shrugs. “It eases the sorrow.”

he replied. He watched the master turning towards him slightly and a sliver of moonlight fell on him, partially revealing his face. As the shadows played across his face, he brought the elegant wine glass in his hands towards his lips. The red wine stained his lips crimson and a drop of wine dripped down his lips, giving the appearance of blood. He looked like a vampire at that moment and from the dark energy radiating off him, he certainly seemed capable of draining lives...

The metallic scent instantly hit blood, stored and waiting. Wooden shelves lined the walls, each stacked with crystal flasks filled to the brim. Half glowed a darker, richer red; the other half shimmered lighter, thinner. The vampire extended an arm toward the stock. “This vault holds our provisions. The vessels on the left are drawn from animals. The vessels on the right are human.”

Blade said, pressing a button, a glass mini fridge crept up slowly behind him. Bella was awed at what she saw. The damn car had a secret fridge, this was technology indeed. Bringing out a bottle of an expensive wine, he filled it on a glass. "Take, taste and tell me your review." Blade said, watching as she took the glass from his hand, her fingers glazed through his for a moment, hearing a light shiver which escaped his lips, he smiled. He was affecting her again, likewise was she. Bella tasted the foreign wine, this was the first time she was tasting a wine and the vampire king was making it special for her.

My body floated away to the beat, moving on it’s own, making me feel like suddenly I was the best dancer there was, bumping and bumping into people. "Take this," It was Beth who was a vampire giving us tiny glasses, holding three bottles of a liquid that was clear. I took a glass as the ten girls around me took their own. When everyone had a glass, Beth opened the first bottle pouring the liquid all over the glasses some spilling on my hands watching her fill the tiny glass moving on to the next.

Camila asked. Logan chuckled. "Fine, a drink will do…" he went to the wine show glass and brought out two bottles of Shipwrecked 1907 Heidsieck. And two wine glasses which he set on the table. "Shall we?" He asked, opening one bottle. Camila smiled; always ready. He filled the wine glasses halfway and dropped the wine on the table. He took his own and gave Camila hers. She shook her head and filled her glass to the brim.

He frowned, it wasn't anything he actually thought it would be, it was simply wine but, His gleaming red eyes steadily went to her finding her taking deep breaths with her face covered in sweat, and body trembling in fear and resistance. It was obvious she was simply drunk, but the wine she drank wasn't an ordinary one. It was made only for vampires, it had blood as well and it's side effects only vampires could handle. A small smirk appeared over his lips as he walked near her, she flinched when he gently palmed her cheek making her snap her eyes to his, her emerald drunken eyes stared at him as the man gently caressed her cheek.

He said then abruptly left the kitchen and returning a few seconds later with a bottle of wine. He walked into the kitchen and opened the cabinet with my dishes and pulled out the only two wine glasses I had. Which were a bachelorette party craft that me and Nikki designed ourselves for our friend Wendy’s wedding. He inspected them closely as he read the words. ‘It’s a braless type of night’ with the picture of a pink bra dangling from the top of the glass down the side.
