A body moves across the window, quickly going to the door, and I instantly shrink back and conceal myself in the curtains. The sound of the door opening sends shivers down my spine. What do I do? “Say that again.” “That vampire––” Orien shook his head. “The last part.” “Wings?” He nodded. “She…she has wings.” She extended her arms to both sides. “Huge, black wings with sharp, knife-like feathers. She used her wings to pin me to the wall. It…It went right through my shoulder.” Freya swiftly moved her gown to reveal the small, round scar that has healed. “What else is she capable of doing?” He released her, inspecting the scar. She shivered when he ran his finger over her skin. “She’s good at fighting. People who saw her fighting said, she was a force to reckon with.”

Honestly, sorcereses collected enemies like empty wine bottles. And why did they all have to be so divinely hot? The vampire wore tight leather trousers, and his large gray wings burst out of a slashed punk military jacket in rainbow colors like he was trying to recapture the daytime. His ebony skin was velvety, and his eyes had no right to look so soft and sexy, at the same time as his teeth gleamed and his steel claws flexed. When he swiped his tongue across his mouth, I noticed the heights piercing on its tip. Her eyes blazed with righteous fury as she struck, moving with a speed and grace that stunned even me. She took down one vampire with a sweeping strike of her hand, sending him crashing into the trees. Another shifter lunged, but Gwen’s wings whipped around him, knocking him off his feet like a gale. Her voice echoed like thunder as she called out, “Leave them alive, or face my wrath!”

“Would I have wings too?” Her eyes brightened as she stared at his black wings. He watched her expression with keen eyes, and a smile couldn't help but play on his lips. “I don't know if you would have wings since you are a half vampire, but if you could learn to be a vampire, Maybe the vampire traits would come to you on their own.” He replied. She raised her head to look at her father. “What do mother's wings look like?" Bartram sighed. “Large, red, and black. I can't help but wonder why you are more curious about vampires than werewolves. Your mother loved werewolves; that's why she fell in love with me.”

My hands claw at the earth. Not again- Not another transformation- Not another curse- But when the pain peaks, something erupts from within me. Wings. Not feathered like Yance’s. I dropped lower and found myself over the ruins, my heart stopping cold in my chest as I caught sight of Amara falling over the cliffside. Erebos swiftly dove towards her, managing to catch her on our back mere yards from the river below. A few stone pieces struck our body and one of our wings, but we brushed it off, more concerned about the trembling woman on us. We had turned to look at her after hearing my name, smiling inside as we took her in.
