The Hale Fortress. The Living Room. Wednesday. 7:00 PM. The first sign that reality was collapsing was the tea. Vespera Hale (The Architect) was pouring a cup of Earl Grey. The liquid left the spout of the porcelain teapot, but it didn't hit the cup. It curled upward. It formed a perfect, steaming spiral in the air, defied gravity, and then dissolved into a cloud of ones and zeros. Vespera stared at the glitching tea. She didn't scream. She simply set the teapot down on the coaster.

She gasped as the fabric began to glow a hot, angry red. "You think you won, Leo?" Elena hissed as she was led away. "The dress is hard-coded to my heartbeat. If my pulse goes above a certain level, it initiates a Total Neural Wipe for the wearer. If I go to jail, Meilin goes to 'Null-Space.' Nobody gets the Vance legacy." Meilin collapsed, the silver fabric searing into her skin. Leo lunged for her, but Bill the Fisherman stepped in his way, a heavy pistol in his hand.

I asked, focus sharpening. “Unknown—they’re being careful,” Jace replied, frustration evident. “They always leave a tell,” Vera murmured, her insight born from countless battles, warming me with admiration. “Selene hates chaos; Varkis despises waiting. Check misaligned loops, subtle drifts.” Jace frowned at the grid. “Misaligned how? Walk me through.” “Half-beat late, she hides ritual drift under digital lag,” Vera explained, her voice steady despite the pressure. He typed furiously, the east culvert pattern jittering. There—a half-second stutter every third loop, exposed like a vulnerability.

Ronan gently reached for my wrist and gave it a steady squeeze. “It is alright,” he whispered. I swallowed hard and placed my thumb on the scanner. The tablet beeped and Rale watched the screen quietly. Ronan watched Vale. I watched nothing. I just waited, heart pounding until it hurt. Five seconds passed, Then ten, Vale exhaled. “Glitch confirmed,” he said. “Your file is fine.” My knees almost gave out. Ronan let out a breath he had been holding. Vale looked at me again. “You should rest,” he said. “You look like you could pass out any second.”

“The Millenium Dreams!” My heart pounded, and I immediately traced Sancha's line of sight. Just looking at them made me feel like I was in Mt. Olympus. They all look like gods...and goddess. Yes, a goddess. There's a girl who was talking and laughing with Zeeve innocuously. She has an angelic face as well. I don't recall hearing a female voice while listening to their band. Was she a member of their band? Or maybe it's Zeeve's girl?

The wings fluttered once more, then stopped. "Glitched," she murmured. "Just like the others." Aria crouched beside the bird, frowning. "What does that mean? Why is it doing that?" Selene hesitated, her gaze scanning the horizon like she was looking for something she didn't want to find. "You're not ready for all of it yet." Aria's eyes narrowed. "Then give me part of it. Stop treating me like I'm asleep." Selene exhaled through her nose, sharp. "Fine. You're not hallucinating. These aren't tricks. The seams between what's real and what was real are tearing. The glitches happen when the universe tries to correct itself… and fails."

Glitched. The neural grid stuttered. > ERROR ERROR ERROR CATALYST PRESENCE UNRESOLVED Raine raised his hand. The forest behind him burned—not with fire, but with raw kinetic force, time folding in on itself. The snow stopped falling. It reversed mid-air. Shards of code bled from the Mirror’s body like light pouring from broken glass. The clone lunged. So did Raine. When they collided, the impact erased sound. A wave exploded outward, carving a crater into the valley. Trees flattened. Stones levitated and dropped. Ava hit the dirt as the air twisted around her, choking on static.

Vanelope's office like they had their own agenda. When I passed by, Martinez was gone—probably off manipulating some other unsuspecting academic victim. But Vanelope was still there, perched on the edge of her desk, flipping through a binder like she hadn't just been on her knees five minutes ago. Her posture was museum-quality elegant, but something in her eyes when she looked up screamed exhaustion. Like she'd been fighting a war for years and was tired of pretending she wasn't losing. "Can I come in?" My voice came out smaller than intended.

They were talking about the miracle Elara had bled for in the ruins. ​"You speak of engineering," I said, stepping forward until I was inches from the scientist. My Alpha aura expanded, a physical wave of heat that made the men in white coats stumble back. "I speak of survival. You call her a threat? I call her the future. My daughter survived the rejection of a High Alpha because her mother was brilliant enough to hack the very laws you use to cage us." ​"She is a Glitch!" a Vane representative shouted from the benches.
