Murderer

Murderer

‘The blow might have done it already but the murderer choked her anyway just to make sure. ‘So, do you see now why I think the murder was urgent? The inspector shook his head impatiently. ‘What about the murder weapon?’ ‘We found a brick on the other side of the sidewalk just outside the back door of the victim’s room. The brick actually formed the boundary to a flower hedge. There is no surety about that, though. It simply may be out of position. I have sent it to Chandigarh along with the pillow for further analysis. We will get the results by Tuesday.’

Her shoulders trembled. The prosecutor continued. "Forensic analysis shows the child didn't die instantly. If he had received timely medical treatment, his survival rate would have exceeded 70 percent. It was the defendant who personally prevented rescue efforts and directly caused her son's death. "This was not negligence, and it wasn't an accident. It was a premeditated murder. She simply killed the wrong person." Esther's lawyer had no response. In the end, the judge brought down the gavel. Esther Lawson was found guilty of intentional homicide and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

It was not just her either… Her own daughter Luna had murdered her Uncle Clark in cold blood. One could even argue Clark deserved it, but Luna still did not get to do it. Add the fact that Luna ultimately turned around and accused Frank and Helen? Their crimes were beyond doubt! That was when Fleur suddenly yelled at the bodyguards, "Go! Restrain Luna and Jade!" After all, she had tried to help them slander Frank and Helen earlier, so she had to denounce them as quickly as she could. On the other hand, Mark breathed a long sigh after watching the entire video.

After about half a minute, Connor finally spoke again, “The Connors once adopted a pair of twins. Their names were Moon and Monet.” Mable was taken aback by this. Moon and Monet? She vaguely recalled Blair mentioning their names at one point… Connor's lethargic voice drawled on, “Thirty-two years ago, when Moon went back to Richworth to visit her family, she chanced into and became acquainted with Mr. Fowler himself. It was Luke Fowler, Blair’s father. “Luke Fowler was immediately enamored by Moon’s beauty. He went and drugged her before raping her and got her pregnant. I absolutely LOVE this story! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I have been unable to put my phone down since I started reading it. I do have one complaint, though...I wish the author would do some proof reading before posting the chapters onto this app because there are quite a few typos

But today, she was shattered. “Moom…mom…I didn't murder Flo, I did not…” “But your fingerprints…”Emily persisted. “Your fingerprints were found on the gun and they were left on the gun before Flora's own. The final one on the gun. It only proves one thing…” “Shut up!” I screamed. “Shut up! Shut up!” My mother was wailing at the top of her voice now and it was driving me crazy. Why was Emily doing this to me? Why was she out to ruin my life?

Fleur ignored him and stepped into the hospital's entrance. She spotted two policemen on duty as soon as she entered the door, so she walked up to them, looked at one of them, and asked expressionlessly, "What is your mission here?" The policeman seemed to have lost his soul in an instant and reported with a blank expression, "We are ordered to stand by and wait for further instructions from the commander." Fleur queried, "What happened on the 17th floor? What are you looking for?" The policeman answered truthfully, "There was a murder there. A patient was admitted yesterday, but he was found dead this morning due to acute morphine poisoning. It can't be ruled out that someone might have inj

Murder Inquiry

Two months into the third year, he had almost paid back the loan in full, he had also begun to set up farms in Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio. During the summer of the third year Daniel was vacationing with his girlfriend in Los Angeles, California, when he was murdered in the same fashion as the other victims, with his left big toe chopped off. Like the murders of the other victims, there was little to no evidence that can be used to trace his killer. The case ended up in the basement of the Los Angeles Police department, as one of the cold cases they had no plans of revisiting. Danny poured himself a cup of coffee, before opening the profile of the third victim.

The news was about the murder that took place last night, that was the third murder in the week from the same person. “The anonymous killer has murdered another gang leader again, this man is a Russian and as usual, the bullets were in the head of the victim and also flowers were found at the scene.” The news reporter read and the flowers were displayed on the screen and the dead man’s picture. I asked in astonishment. "That's what I don't know. He was just ordered to knock Lynn down." Jervis added. Why is it? The Flores is a wealthy family that holds most of the furniture business of this area. Every end of the month they also give the group money. “Need to talk to them.” I sighed. "I heard, Mr. Flores was killed. I think Lynn was the one they thought killed." Feline said. "So someone framed up Lynn? Never mind, he killed Mr. Flores and made it look like Lynn killed him. Like that?"

The plot twist in 'Moonflower Murders' absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible. It’s one of those mysteries where you think you’ve pieced everything together, only for Anthony Horowitz to yank the rug out from under you. The big reveal hinges on a clever meta-narrative trick—the book within the book, 'Atticus Pünd Takes the Case,' isn’t just a fictional novel referenced in the story; it actually holds the key to solving the real-world murder. The protagonist, Susan Ryeland, realizes that the original 'solution' in the fictional book was wrong, and the real culprit was hiding in plain sight all along, mirrored in both narratives.

What makes it so satisfying is how Horowitz plays with layers of storytelling. The fictional book’s errors become clues, and the parallels between the two mysteries are brilliantly woven. It’s not just about whodunit; it’s about how stories can deceive and illuminate at the same time. I love how the twist forces you to revisit everything you thought you knew—both about the characters and the nature of detective fiction itself. The way it ties together feels like unlocking a puzzle box.
