“That’s my girl. Show them what you’re made of.” After thanking Lady Aleria, I eagerly turned my attention to the books laid out before me. Filled with complex ideas, unfamiliar language, and profound insights, these volumes weren't intimidating but rather intriguing. The sheer volume of knowledge awaiting me didn't lessen my spirits; in fact, it fueled my excitement to dive into the material. Lady Aleria observed me as I arranged my study materials, sipping her tea in thoughtful silence. Grateful for the daily learning in this newfound sanctuary, I felt a surge of motivation. “Of course my Lord,” I took out the book I got from the shelf back at Crimson Valley and laid it on the table beside it. “Woah!” Martin exclaimed. “Why did you take this with you?” He asked. “You see that is the crazy part of this,” I replied with a calm smile. “It was never here. This is half of that book and I cannot wait to read its full content,” Martin had a shocked expression. I know he was not expecting that the book had another part to it that would require a magic fusion. “What are you going to do with it then?” He asked.

Moving something to the Resting Pages felt like a solemn, hopeful act. Maris, whose bold graphic novels often pulsed with vibrant energy, was drawn to a loose cover design slipped into the green folder. It was clearly meant for a zine – rough, energetic lines depicting a mango sliced cleanly in half. But only one half was filled with a riot of warm yellows, oranges, and reds. The other half remained starkly, deliberately blank. The vibrancy of the colored half made the emptiness beside it ache. Maris didn't try to color the blank half. Only a handful of those things have any basis in reality.” “Really?” I countered, my curiosity piqued despite myself. Sliding off the bed, I picked up the book and held it in my palm, examining its worn cover as if the answers to the universe might suddenly reveal themselves.

Because there was no cover to lift. The book never closed. Because there was no cover to lower. The book was the opening. The book was the closing. The book was the reading. The book was the read. All one. Always one. Without oneness. This. The final chapter is not final. There was no first. There was no sequence. Only this. Appearing as sequence for a while. Appearing as progression. Appearing as development. Appearing as climax. Appearing as resolution. Appearing as dissolution.

A story came alive on those pages. It was a worn book, cracked down the middle, pages bent from too many readings. Earlier today, my mind kept drifting back to her. He can't continue reading, he needs a break for half an hour or maybe after school hours. He needs to continue reading and memorizing at home only.
