Now that they have unpacked her room, things get kind of awkward. It is getting late, which brings to the front of her mind the little issue of sleeping arrangements. The fact that there is only one bed in the room has not escaped her notice at all. It does not seemed to have escaped his either judging by the way that he keeps casting looks at it. I need to get out of this island as soon as possible. ~ ELEVEN MONTHS LATER ~ The sun is hiding; the snow is falling. Snowflakes dance and twirl as they cascade on the ground. A gust of wind blew. A snowflake kissed the glass wall of my office before it descended on its destination. Ivory snowfield blanketed the streets of Manhattan. The blizzard's icy bite pierced through her layers of clothing, but her focus remained unbroken.

I needed clarity, to know the exact point he started fooling me. In seconds, different weather reports popped up. From snow warnings, to storm advisories, and even flight cancellations. I scrolled carefully, to get all the details I needed. And then my stomach dropped at what I saw. Nothing was severe enough to the point of losing two weeks. Or a whole month in the dark.

REESE POV “What do you mean you can’t get me any closer?” I demanded. Travis looked nonplussed. “See this?” he asked, showing me a computer screen with a blue swath over most of the map. “Snow. A massive storm is starting. Going to be a few days before it even begins to clear up.” “So you won’t even bring us up there?” I asked in disbelief. “What about our wolves? Can we go on foot? Wouldn’t they make it?”
