Vermont Snowstorm Novels & Stories

She had thought last year was rough when she and Daniel struggled back home to Silver Nation through the snow after she had rescued him from Troy custody, but that was nothing in comparison. This year, the snow was already piling despite it being early in the winter, and it was far colder and icier than it had ever been. Wind and rain she had been expecting, but the more perilous snowstorms weren't supposed to be hitting the region for at least another month and a half.

Flowers decorated the passageway, each pot with a considerable amount of space between. The building's interior was chic and exotic just the way she liked it. She loved the soft colors that blended to give it a cool feel. She shivered. The word ‘cool' reminded her of the weather forecast that morning. Snow. It was going to snow very soon and her stomach rolled at the thought. Scarlett didn’t hate the snow. In fact, she loved it. She'd loved playing in the snow as a child or just watching it fall, but that was before she started getting the visions.

She struggled to make her way around the frozen trees as gingerly and quickly as possible, trying not to incur another wound to slow her down even more. And as the warm breath of her pursuers brushed against her nape, goosebumps formed over her bare arms. Terrified out of her mind, she shuffled forward, her wild eyes and turbulent mind screaming for familiar grounds. But what she saw... Her pulse quickened and her stomach tightened as nothing but a frozen and desolate landscape stretched before her. No...

It was now almost December, and the ground was covered in snow, the Vermont landscape was a winter wonderland, trees and mountains layered in white. Throughout my time growing up in this area, I never tired of the changing seasons and all the unique sceneries they brought. I couldn’t decide if I enjoyed autumn or winter best. Both had a magical feeling to them.

It was better than the silence. As dusk settled, a snowstorm began. Not a gentle, picturesque flurry, but a sudden, vicious blizzard. Fat, wet flakes smeared across the windshield, the wipers fighting a losing battle. The world outside dissolved into a swirling vortex of white. The highway lights became hazy, indistinct orbs, and then they were gone. I was driving blind.

The snow began to fall just as the tactical detail cleared the western sally port. It was not a natural winter storm; nothing about the weather seemed natural after what happened. It was the barometric fallout of Kaela’s active hybrid power, which took the shape of a heavy, swirling blizzard that dropped visibility to ten feet within the old-growth pine forest flanking the stronghold's approach. The cold air was crisp and sharp, and it pinned the scents of the fleeing saboteurs directly to the white powder covering the gravel path.

Her presence was the perfect antidote to the storm in my head. The minute we arrived in Vermont, I had promised myself I wouldn’t think about anything. It was my way of coping, of trying to escape, if only for a few days. Thankfully, Liv had insisted that we just go to bed after dinner. We needed to rest, she said, to recharge. It was probably a good thing, considering how much had happened in the past few days.

He pointed with a small growl at me and said, "She doesn't know why she was brought here, does she?" "N-no," Vermont answered, shaking his head. "But I can address her and explain it all to her--" "Do so and get back to me," Alpha Logan said before turning and walking back into the pack compound. When the gate finally closed shut, Vermont fell to the ground and held his chest and he began hyperventilating. He had probably been scared that Alpha Logan was going to snap his neck. Unfortunately for me and fortunately for him, today was his lucky day. Vermont stood up from the ground after he had finally regained his composure and wiped the dust away from his shirt before walking towards my cage

Doc, “yes hun, I’ve done what I can for her but only time will tell if she makes it through. I have administered a pain jab that should last the night and I have her on a drip. We will have to get her to the hospital as soon as this blasted storm halts.” I look out the window, looks like a hell of a snow storm. “How long is it meant to be snowing?”, I ask. Sheriff, “well I checked the weather satellite this morning and it’s a big one. Meant to be the biggest storm we’ve had in 80years.” Robin, “so what does that mean?” Sheriff, “ it means we could be stranded up here
