Veronica commented as if she read Francesca's mind, "Now, stay still." Veronica grasped Francesca's arms. But from Francesca's panic, a wave of blue light coated her body, releasing Veronica's spell. The demon's eyes widened and Francesca started to squirm, gaining on the chance. Maybe the moon goddess' powers were helping her. She wouldn't know why Selene would do that if she was working with Veronica, but Francesca didn't care. "Stay still, or this won't work," Veronica muttered and Francesca became even more hysterical. She fought with all her might, ignoring the pain caused by Veronica's long nails digging into her skin.

She smiled at her apologetically. Veronica is a good actress. She didn’t mind asking for forgiveness if it was for her own good. Besides, she can just kill this old lowlife later and her problems will be solved. “Are you sure?” Liam eyes her suspiciously. Then, his gaze dropped on Rosa who was still trembling from fear. “Rosa, are you okay?” Liam had to make sure. Rosa looked at Veronica and then to Liam. She nodded. Veronica released her and she skewered away from the two werewolves.

She lunged towards a distracted Rowan. “Rowan, move!” I screamed. But Tara moved faster. She shoved him aside just as the dagger plunged into her chest. “TARA!” Thorne’s roar shook the room. Veronica stepped back, admiring the blood on her blade. “Oops,” she said lightly. “That was for sealing me in a jar for years.” Thorne fell to his knees, cradling Tara’s body. The room erupted into chaos.. screams, magic, crashing glass. Veronica tilted her head, smiling at the carnage. “Now that that’s settled Lyra can finally roam the earth.., back to my dear daughter.”

“He tried to make me smaller. And for a while, he succeeded. But I found myself again.” He knelt before her, brushing her hair off her shoulder. “And I’ll never let anyone take that from you again.” She smiled, softly but fiercely. “Neither will I.” Meanwhile, Veronica watched from her office, the glow of the screen casting long shadows across her face. Brayden had failed. The footage of Damien facing him down was everywhere. She threw the remote. “They should’ve cracked by now.” But even as the fury burned in her, something else took root, unease.

I spat, glaring daggers into space. “What are you going to do now, Rosy?” Veronica asked and I smirked. “Fight.” Veronica sighed and ruffled her hair, staring at me with pity and concern. I frowned upon seeing the look on her face. “Don’t give me that stupid stare, I’m not weak!” She smiled lightly and switched her eyes to the bracelet on her wrist. I stared at the bracelet too, wondering where I had seen it. To be clear, I have never seen this bracelet with Veronica before but I know that I have seen it with someone else.
