Dark Descendant

The girl then brought her face closer, try reading the page of the book. Venus did not really understand, but the scene that was plastered was explaining the situation where Amerta's time finally approached its end. Because she did not want to dirty her hands with dust, Venus used the Air again to close the book. The cover explained that it was only a fiction novel that was inspired by the real circumstances of the downfall of Amerta. The downfall of Amerta. How exaggerated, Venus mind denounced. The girl took turns blowing dust on the two books that had been originally covered with Air Talent. One is titled ENCHANTED and the other is titled WOLVIRE, both appear to be writings from someone n

VESPERA

VESPERA

She set her bag down and went to make herself a drink. Across the city, Vespera's apartment was quiet and warm. She was at her desk in her nightgown, a face mask drying to its second stage with a loose hair. The desk lamp was on. Everything else was off. She was holding the USB drive in her hand and was about to plug it in. She only hesitated because she wanted to be ready before she started. Then she plugged it in. The folder structure was simple. She opened the main directory and found what she expected, document files, dozens of them, named by date.

Seducing The Alpha: My Ex's Uncle, My Mate

Dee’s eyes went wide with disbelief. “That book is a myth,” Linette said. “It doesn’t exist.” “It does,” I replied. “Covered in spikes, bloody writing, and glittering with gold and black.” Linette’s lashes fluttered. “No… that book was destroyed,” she whispered. “What is it? Some kind of forbidden text or magic?” I asked. “It’s the Book of Fate,” Linette breathed. “Said to have been destroyed centuries ago. How did you touch it?” “It… appeared in my room,” I confessed, my voice shaking.

Taken As Hostage By The Ruthless DON DE VIL

Harvey sat on one of the sofas and scrolled through his phone until Vespertine lowered it. “She's broken." Harvey looked straight at Vespertine. Vespertine picked up a cigarette and lit it. "Can't make the next bid?” Harvey frowned. “Bid? I just said she's broken by what happened two nights ago.” Vespertine didn't bat an eye. "Caused by herself.” Harvey's jaw clenched, and he defended, “A girl would be shocked when she's suddenly thrust from her comfort into danger; when did vulnerability become a…”

Lycan and His Lover

Lycan and His Lover

Once he is gone, Elthezar closes the door and turns to the book. “What is this?” he whispers. Flipping through the pages, he reads through some of the passages and frowns. “Honey…sprouts…” he scoffs. “This is all nonsense!” He skims through more lines which sound ridiculous to him. “Blood of man is purified when his inner self is calmed with the herbal essence of hyacinths. It soothes the-” Why is Eduard Visserion so interested in this? He wonders. If Mikhael Vadimovna wrote a book which was never published, then there must be some mystery behind it. What was that man hiding?

The Lycan's Obsession

And all of them let out a shriek when they saw Vasil surrounded by a cloud of dull shadows. “Her shadows are thinning. Just find a way to destroy that damn book” Vasil cried and I looked around, wondering what could do that. For now, I just held it close to my chest and dashed to the potions section where I knew some very potent herbs were stored. I simply opened a few labeled with a skull and poured it down on the book. The book rattled and sizzled and I cried, “It is working” Jasper and Nymeria came running to me while Xenos was leaning on the wall for support. He seemed too bleak and his breathing was labored.

I am not often sucked into a story like this, but I actually care about the characters. the male lead is intriguing and mysterious. i like that the female lead, is strong. I'd love to see where you go with this. I'll be checking out your other stories while waiting and anticipating your next update

In my honest opinion, it's a good story, but I'm not done with the book yet. I'm struggling with it. The author has drug the story out and jumps ahead without clarifying things. (Like all of a sudden, the FL has magic, but for 113 chapters, there is no mention of it or her being a hybrid.)

THE DAY I SLAYED MY VAMPIRE LOVER

THE DAY I SLAYED MY VAMPIRE LOVER

She stepped inside. Rusty Vesper stood by the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the cathedral district, a heavy leather-bound book in his hands. He wore a simple black shirt, sleeves rolled up, revealing strong forearms. The sight of him—unguarded, domestic—sent a fresh wave of heat through her body. He turned when she entered, and the look in his eyes nearly stole her breath. “You came,” he said softly. “I shouldn’t have.” Yet she closed the door behind her.

VALERIA. The air in the grand basalt chamber tasted like dust and old parchment. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Vespera lounging against the back wall. She wasn't even trying to mask her predatory gaze anymore. She stood with her arms crossed tightly over her dark leather corset, her steel-gray eyes glowing with sick, eager anticipation. I could practically read her mind. She was literally counting down the seconds, waiting for the highly illegal aphrodisiac to melt my brain.

Alpha's Last Chance

Alpha's Last Chance

She says with a hint of sorrow in her voice. "Maybe," He grunted. "Bottom of the food chain. That’s what others call Omegas." She uttered in sorrow. Velmont did not respond; he took one of the books and helped her with the research. Minutes, hours, then almost half the day goes by, and still nothing. The duo finally called it a day when the clock reached ten in the evening. They started arranging the books back on the shelves when suddenly Gertrude noticed a book neatly stuffed at the back of the bookcase. She took it, "Book of Offerings 1321." She murmured. Velmont, on the other hand, continued arranging the books back.

Frequently Asked Questions

Margaret Rogerson wrote 'Vespertine', and her storytelling is just phenomenal. I stumbled upon this book while browsing fantasy novels, and the way she crafts dark, atmospheric worlds hooked me immediately. Rogerson has this knack for blending supernatural elements with deep character arcs—Artemisia’s journey with the revenant is proof. Her earlier works like 'An Enchantment of Ravens' show similar lyrical prose, but 'Vespertine' leans harder into gothic horror vibes. If you enjoy morally grey protagonists and eerie magic systems, Rogerson’s books are a must-read. Her ability to make saints and spirits feel terrifyingly real is unmatched in YA fantasy right now.
