She had risen to her feet and she moved silently, carefully, making sure Varek couldn't hear her. She picked up a blade, then she began walking toward us as Varek's attention remained fixed on me. “It seems no one is coming to save you now,” he mocked with a laugh, his sword still clutched in his other hand. I swallowed hard. Jade reached him, she raised the blade, then drove it straight into Varek’s chest from behind.
