But don’t blame me if I’m off-key.” His words made me smile, even though anxiety still lingered in my mind. Julien’s voice flowed gently, and I could feel the warmth in the notes he sang. The song he sang was a soft melody in French. I didn’t understand all the lyrics, but the gentle tune calmed me. His voice was low and warm, echoing softly through the gaps in the bamboo.
