She shook her head and plugged her other ear with the other piece of the Bluetooth earphone and we eventually fell into quietness. The only sound I could hear was that of the elevator and her occasional giggles. She was truly beautiful even with the less makeup she wore -she could be mistaken for a model. She had purple-coloured hair which was braided on the left side and then clipped midway leaving the rest to fall over her shoulders. She wore a black high-heeled Nike sneaker, blue Jean trousers, a cream-coloured camisole and a black leather jacket all of which screamed quality but in a subtle way. In all, she was cool and friendly even though I'm just meeting her for the first time.

"She is such a kidder." Her eyes darted between the two of us and she let out a laugh. "For a moment there I thought she was serious." "Bu-" I immediately interrupted her before she could say something crazy. Mike did not this girl justice. For goodness sake! She was innocent and she was thrown into the hungry wolves which were us. "Valentina, do you want something done to your hair?" That seemed to get her attention because her eyes lit up. "Oh, God! Oh, God!" She jumped from her seat and turned to the lady. "I want my hair colored, but not fully colored." She grabbed the end part of her hair. "I want the top black and the bottom purple."

"It's a girl, her hair is--is purple?" "It's Ava! Let her in." I snorted at Garrett's comment turned question. As soon as Garrett unlocked the door, Ava came storming in. Her tangled headphones skidded across the carpet as she practically ran inside. After brushing several purple strands of hair from her forehead, she cocked an eyebrow at all of us.

“What about violet?” Nate blinks, caught off guard. “What about it?” Unwinding the strand of hair, she resumes her finger-drumming rhythm. “I’m thinking of coloring my hair violet. Think it’ll suit me?” Nate arches a brow, skepticism radiating off him. “Girl, it’s going to take a few sessions of bleach to strip all that darkness out of your hair. And that’s if your hair doesn’t fall out from the trauma.” “Celeste knows how to do hair recovery like a pro,” Ariah counters with a casual shrug, the hint of a smirk tugging at her lips. “It’s not a problem. Or… what about dark blue? Like a rich indigo?”

No she can't take that. "My love for purple is not unbearable, its unique. I was born with it. You can tell from my eyes and hair. I love purple and l am going to make everything about me feel and be the same, and if you think its unbearable to you then l would advise you get yourself a new room" she crossed her arms and backed him.

The one with glasses said, his hair dyed in purple and a ring embedded in the piercing of his nose. “Hey, that wasn't funny.” She scoffed and crossed her arms above her chest. “But one thing for sure, you’re quite the beauty.” The other one smirked, his dark golden locks styled perfectly on his crown with a lip ring around his bottom lip. “Why thankyou, mi'lord. Unlike your other piece, you’re very co-operative.” She threw the same sentence on their faces, making them smirk in amusement. “Quiet feisty.” The purple colored boy replied.

Seeing her like this was painful. At one point, I started to run my fingers through her hair. The purple was paler now, looking more like her than the bright purple. It was long but I just brushed through what I could reach with my hands. I started to hum as well. Singing was never my forte but I knew it could be calming and I hoped having something familiar might help Sky center herself. The song I picked was one I had heard a couple times, in the shop and in the car with her. I couldn’t remember the lyrics but I could hum the melody at least.

I couldn't help but ask. Laura had found a salon to change the most unique thing about me which was the purple strand of hair in my brown wavy hair. This was a unique feature that came along with my powers. Everything I did to make it seem less obvious only made the space it took bigger. Cutting it off had done nothing but made it longer than the whole length of my hair, making it an eyesore. "We don't know until we try. I heard this was one unique shop!" A woman walked beside her, and it seemed like they had come out together, chatting casually as they made their way to the balcony. Winnie giggled, then turned to me. “Wow, I know Harriet’s sign language teacher so well.” The other woman smiled warmly. “I’m sorry, I haven’t introduced myself yet,” she said. She had striking purple hair that looked completely natural, like she’d been born with it. Slim, short, and with a presence that tugged at something in the back of my mind. She looks familiar, either I’ve seen her before, or she looks a lot like someone I once knew.
