Caitlin sat in her large room in Dunvegan in Castle at a writing desk, looking out the window at the sunset sky. She examined the torn page McCleod had given her, holding it up to the light. She slowly ran her fingertips along the embossed, Latin letters. They looked and felt ancient. The entire page was so beautifully and intricately designed, and she marveled at the intricate colors along the paper’s edges. Back then, she realized, books were made to be works of art in and of themselves.

Bryat pulls her closer and nods once. “And this is Alpha Caleb and Luna Marcie,” Thoran points to the remaining pair. “Of the Lunar Pack.” They bow slightly. “It’s nice to finally meet you. I am honored to have become your ally,” the man’s voice is deep… impossibly deep. It vibrates through my chest, sending chills down my spine. “You as well,” Martin bows his head. “This is my mate, Marcie,” Caleb says. She may be a werewolf, but her eyes are as sharp as a cat’s. She gracefully nods with a calm, soft smile.
