Theoden leaned in beside her, his piercing blue eyes fixed on the text. “What does it say?”

He quietly backed away and hid under the shadow of a tree as he watched the entire fight. The Flaming Vulture was a ferocious beast but looked small when facing the Black-Winged Tiger. When the Black-Winged Tiger lunged at it, the Flaming Vulture immediately dodged. After that, it got entangled with the tiger in another attack. Both monsters died in the end. The tiger was dead while the vulture had been torn apart by the tiger and burned to a crisp. "I can't believe such powerful beasts appeared in front of me. Could there be some sort of treasure here?" Chase wondered about this and had a vague guess.

My skin burned, but it did not consume us. And then suddenly— We were through. The cursed valley spread out before us. Dark cliffs surrounded a wide basin filled with twisted trees and broken stone. The air felt colder here. And the moment we stepped inside, I saw them. Veyr’s wolves. Dozens of them. Their eyes glowed faintly with the same cursed light as the fire behind us. And in the center of the valley stood Veyr. Tall. Waiting. Beside him— My breath caught.

I glanced at Don Julio, but he was too focused on the game to notice it. But I did. A flash of movement caught my eye — too fast to track. My instincts screamed, and before I could think of it, the first shot chimed out, followed by several further. People screamed, chaos erupted around us, and suddenly, the world turned into agony. The Blood Vultures. I didn’t have to ask. I knew already due to recent attacks. But there was something different about this ones. They wore masks and dressed in sharp suits with the tattoo of a bird on the top of the mask.
