Royal vampires can and so can half-breeds; it’s weird, I know but I also have to drink blood to stay strong. Half-breeds only have to drink blood every few months, my family needs to at least once a month.” she nodded, seeming to understand. We got out and went inside; I gave the hostess the name and she escorted us to a boot

The vampire led him down the stairs to the basement. He could hear Kira and Agatha on the other side of the wall. The vampire pulled the cupboard away and opened the door. Smoke filled the room and the women coughed.

I entered the dining room, sitting down at a long wooden table with a black cloth over it that shined like obsidian. Above the table hung a crystal chandelier, glimmering like diamonds at a low setting, likely so as to not disturb the vampires here. The scent of fresh gourmet steak hit my senses, causing my stomach to rumble. Running my tongue over my lips, I looked up as one of the vampires who passed me by. She had dark skin and curly hair that spilled down her back, dressed in tight leathers with a few spikes here and there, fairly punkish like the vampire I had just been taken by.

Huffing as I stood up, I showered and put on the dress. The dinner itself was a wonderful affair. The restaurant Sol took me to was co-owned by a human and a vampire and catered to both. It was a popular spot for human-vampire couples and brought no attention to them when one part was eating, and the other was not. The dinner was a wonderful affair until Sol mentioned my father. "You met with him?" I gawked at him. The fork in my hand was now a long-lost relic beside my plate. I gulped down the wine sitting in front of me as Sol nodded his affirmation.

The tributes were mainly selected to be those blood wells. As werewolves could generally heal quickly, I imagined vampires could feast on them many times before the tributes finally succumbed. Knowing that, and knowing that I was the tribute selected to be Vampire Duke Damien’s blood pet, I guessed serving him for dinner meant that I would personally be the food, with my blood on the menu.

I don't remember having a sacred book with me. Hold on. Could it be the book that I thought belonged to my mom? "It's the book you almost destroyed," he informed me. Oh, maybe that's why he texted me to not tear it up. At that time I was so confused and thought he was a stalker. Little did I know he was actually a blood-sucking demon. Or was he? "Since you're a vampire, do you drink blood?" I asked because from what I know, they're always thirsty for blood and he hasn't shown any sign of that.

Devin sighed and gave me a pity look. “He’ll come around.” He assured me. “In the meantime, it’s a beautiful day and the sun is up. You wanna go for a walk?” he asked and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, only if he knew what he just did. He just invited a vampire for a walk, in the sun. Good thing I’m a day lighter. “Sure.” I said and stood up from the chair I was seated. “So, what do you wanna talk about?” He asked swinging his arms beside him while staring at my face making me a little more uncomfortable than I already am.
