Wake Up To Reality × Novels & Stories

I wake up before the alarm. Five fifty three. The kind of waking that is not gradual, no drifting, no half consciousness, just eyes open and the immediate awareness that today is the day the podcast releases and forty thousand people already watched the preview clip and by the time London is fully awake, the number will be something else entirely. Rhys is asleep beside me.

Since you, who introduced me to this abysmal reality, should pay for what you've done. "I'm going to get rid of trashes like you, do you understand? I will give my all to survive in my next life, and if, in any case, I can't? I swear to fucking drag you down to hell with me. Let's suffer together in my next life, you filthy devil." Celestin still managed to smirk even though blood was spurting from her mouth at every word she utter.

She searched for him as far as her legs would carry but she couldn’t find him. “Uncle!!!!” She screamed and woke up with a start. Her clothes stuck to her body drenched in sweat. She felt like the gaping hole in her heart had widened further. Her knuckles turned pale white as she clenched the edge of the blanket. “Aaahhh….” A bone-chilling scream erupted from her throat and she broke down. The room resounded with her heart-rending wails. When her eyes were squeezed dry she sat there hugging herself and muttered, “Welcome to the Reality.”

Crack! A bolt of lightning suddenly split the night sky in half. The pale white light flashed across my blurred vision, illuminating the Apple Watch that had just been exposed beneath my torn sleeve. In the flickering darkness, I couldn’t see his face clearly—only a massive shadow collapsing over me, accompanied by a ravenous, cackling laugh. A razor-sharp current of cold air sliced through the wind toward me. Before I could even register it, my wrist was seized by a rough, filthy hand and yanked violently.

The silver network erupted with a brilliant, blinding light that illuminated the entire planet. The Witness opened its massive eye to its absolute limits. The fracture shook violently, and reality itself bent and warped around the platform. In that singular, terrifying moment, every single ancient being realized the exact same horrifying truth. Ava wasn't just recovering her memories. She was awakening. The Architect's face went completely pale, her voice a breathless gasp of horror. "No." The End took a massive step forward, its voice a deep, vibrating warning that shook the earth. IT IS TOO SOON. THE CONTAINER CANNOT HOLD.

"Don't believe her! She faked the video to smear my name!" "Still denying it when the evidence is staring you in the face?" Kimberly snorted. "Fine, let's say the video is fabricated. But hospital records don't lie, do they? Or how about you do another scan right in front of the viewers? Prove it's not supermale syndrome." Lotta's face went pale, and she bit her lip hard. Just then, a resounding crash echoed through her feed. Richard had kicked down the door, storming in fiercely.

The moment they left, I forced myself to get up and dial that number. "Jason Wade, I'm begging you. Please come and save me…" The man who would one day be cold and decisive sounded unexpectedly tense on the other end of the line. Through the phone, he whispered, "Dawn, don't be afraid." I heard the sharp rattle of car keys. "Send me your location. I'll be there soon," Jason said.

Ayla’s POV Waking up in my own bed with my three mates around me was the best feeling in the world. It almost made me forget about the shit storm that was my life right now. If I could stay in this little bubble, I would, but I can’t. “Awake already, Beautiful”, Archer’s voice reached me. I looked over at him, lounging in one of my armchairs. His top had been discarded on the floor somewhere in the night, and he was left in just his trousers. He was looking nothing less than God-like as always.

A thick silence filled the private room. Drenched in wine, the man was too shocked to react, his anger choking off mid-breath. Just then, Sienna's gaze drifted over. She nudged Jason, who was slumped against her, and said, "Jason, wake up. Natalie's here." Natalie? Jason blinked awake, instantly recognizing that familiar outline. Before he could process it, he was straightening up in Sienna's arms, the haze of alcohol fading almost instantly. Then, it hit him—Natalie couldn't see.

I gasp, inhaling a deep almost vicious breath as reality crashes back in on me, shuddering my brain around my head and I’m startled awake, back where I began, in the infirmary, gripping onto Colton’s leg for dear life, and so disoriented as my vision returns to normal. I can hardly breathe for a moment and have to drag air into my lungs while I get my bearings and shake my head to clear my blurry vision.
