Wake Up To Reality × Novels & Stories

Austin was glowing with giddy excitement as the romantic kiss deepened further. Unfortunately, with the exhilaration comes the distinguishable feeling of reality as the mind registers it is nothing but a fantasy. With the sudden move from him, Sara recreationally stirs beside her only to wake up with a jolt. She was truly in for the shock of her life as she slowly lifted her blurred-vision eyes to meet the reality of an Austin who was beneath her while she single-handedly draped her arm on his chiseled chest.

Was this one of the dreams where I have to relive helm and get traumatized? Cynthia moved and the cold metal bit into my skin again, this time it tore my flesh. The pain was too real, it woke me from whatever sleeping state I was still tapping into and grounded me in reality. Wait, it's real. Cynthia is really standing beside me. “Wake up you stupid bitch, wake up!." I blinked and wondered how she got here, how she got to my room. She will kill me. “You're helping me escape, get up!."

About an office with a bed becoming the right category for the right space. About a living room becoming home. About inside. Where you stayed. --- Amara woke at five thirty. The specific wakefulness. I was already awake. She looked at the ceiling. She looked at me. The real expression. Not managed. Not performed. The specific quality of someone waking up and finding the world arranged correctly. "Good morning," she said. "Good morning," I said. She looked at the ceiling. "Noah will be up at six fifty nine," she said.

We've become players in a much larger game—one that threatens to reshape the nature of reality itself. The multiversal awakening begins, and with it, the greatest revolution existence has ever known.

I whispered one night as we sat by a fire. "It’s not crashing," Rowan said, staring into the flames. "It’s being **Overwritten**. The 'Real World' 2026 was just the final simulation. It was the 'Safety Net' for the elite. When you woke up in that warehouse, you didn't wake up in reality. You woke up in the 'Hard Drive.'" I felt a cold chill. "Then... where is the 'Real' world? The one with no ink and no wolves?" Rowan looked up at the purple moon.

Vamoire is not speaking as well. “Are you sure you did not overdose them with that certain drug?” Hodor adjusted himself on the throne, his back is fully leaned on it. “I am sure we had only given the right amount,” Viller confidently answered. “They will wake up soon, my King,” Jek chimed in. “Oh, they are moving. I think they are gaining their consciousness,” he immediately added seeing them slowly moving their limbs. Hodor’s eyes is flashed with anticipation. “Finally,” he uttered in a creepy voice.

Yet, there was nothing here, nothing at all. Just me, weightless and incorporeal surround by nothing, no light and no darkness. I was totally alone here, wherever here is, with solid emptiness to keep me company. The feel of it pressing in on me was horrifying, like I was standing in the mouth of an enormous monster I could neither see or ran from. Stuck in an endless loop of dread and inescapable fear and sure as the sun would rise I knew that in this cycle of nothing, I would spend my eternity. Then I woke up.

His hand brushed against me, but I gently moved it away. "You're tired. Just sleep," I muttered. ... I woke up early the next morning, picking out a casual T-shirt, a denim skirt, and white sneakers. I tied my hair into a bun and did my makeup. In the mirror, I looked like an energetic young girl with fair skin, a slender figure, and bright eyes. Derrick, on the other hand, was still recovering from a hangover. His eyes were bloodshot, with dark circles underneath. Luckily, his features were decent, and he wasn't that old. Once he put on the white T-shirt, knee-length denim shorts, and white sneakers I'd prepared for him, he looked livelier.

When she woke again, she was lying on a hospital bed. The damning images from the black box surged back into her mind. She yanked out her IV needle in a blind frenzy. A nurse, catching sight of her wild struggle, quickly restrained her, shouting for a doctor to sedate her. "I want to see Kurt…" … I was at home, recovering, when my phone wouldn't stop ringing. My mother, finally unable to bear the noise, urged me softly. "Who keeps calling? Could it be something urgent?" I glanced at the glowing screen. That number—I could recognize it with my eyes closed.

“Wake up.” He stirred, eyes squinting, still half lost in sleep. “What?” he muttered. “Wake the hell up,” I hissed again, nodding slightly. His gaze followed mine, then his body went rigid. “Are you seeing them too?” he murmured, confusion thick in his voice. “Yes, Ryan,” I snapped under my breath. “They’re real.” He pushed himself up quickly, grabbing leaves to cover his lower half, his expression shifting from dazed to alert as the reality settled in.
