Her face was ghostly pale and damp with sweat, while her hair was a tangled mess, with strands sticking to her cheeks. Her body was covered in bruises, with red scratches crisscrossing her skin. Eve’s lower half was in an even worse state. A beer bottle, its neck stained black, was roughly lodged there. The surrounding skin was swollen and raw, the dried blood dark and crusted.
