I hope that news will at least distract her, even if my beast is still clawing at my skull with the anger he has no idea where to direct. Something at the bottom of the golden wreath catches my eye and I lean in closer to get a better look. five silver flowers poke up from amidst the wolfsbane. In the centre is a lily, either side of that a daffodil, and beside each daff is a daisy.

"Who said it was just an ordinary flower?" Era closed her eyes dramatically. Just as she had suspected, Oscar did not take kindly to having his gift questioned. "Who said there's nothing special about this flower?" Oscar continued, glancing at Era for a moment. Then he confidently pointed to the bouquet. "This is a very special flower. Do you think this is an ordinary rose?" He looked again. "Of course not. This is no ordinary rose, Era. This is a Juliet rose, one of the rarest and most expensive flowers in the world. For your information, it took David Austin 15 years to grow it, and its current price is around four million dollars. So, this flower is not ordinary at all."

When he entered, he approached the florist who stood behind the counter. “Welcome to Serene Seeds, how may we help you, please?” “I need flowers, Uhm… good flowers,” he stuttered and the florist chuckled. “I could help you pick some. Who are you getting it for? Your girlfriend, friend, mother, or…?” “My wife. I’m getting it for my pregnant wife. I need something that could cheer her up,” he said and the woman smiled. “That is so thoughtful! Then, I would recommend Gypsophila paniculata which is also known as ‘baby’s breath’.”

I said, then turned and walked towards the sofa where my sister and Jay were busy discussing crypto and who knows what else. "Um, Miss Azalea?" the dressmaker suddenly said, and I turned. "Maybe it would be nice if you use white azaleas and baby's breath for the wedding." Ikaros' lips widened into a thin smile. "Good idea," he said. "I like the name of those flowers, azaleas and baby's breath." And if the mental warfare between Ikaros and me were likened to a chessboard, he had just taken down one of my pawns standing in front.

“It’s a bit temperamental and difficult to grow. It needs the right conditions—particular soil, the right amount of sunlight, and careful watering. But when it’s in full bloom, it’s stunning.” I paused for a moment, letting the words settle between us. Alexander didn’t look like he was in a hurry, so I decided to continue. “This flower," I said, carefully examining the bloom, "has a unique characteristic. The petals are dark, almost black at the edges, but the deeper hues of purple are rich and vibrant. It’s called the Midnight Flame because, in the right light, it glows, almost like it’s alive with passion.” I took a breath and let the calm of the garden surround us. “It’s also known for it

I wasn't about to wreck a home. "So dumb." I wipe my eyes on my knees, but the tears don't stop. I look up and can see people making their way through the trees towards me. I sniff and rest my chin on my hands. My eyes trail down, and through my blurry vision, I can see dozens and dozens of flowers blooming around me. I furrow my brow, wiping at my eyes again and moving to sit on my knees and crouch over the flowers. I hadn't wiped my hands on the ground, but they were still blooming. Pink ones, purple, white. Still smaller than a quarter, but slightly bigger than the last ones I made bloom. And there were a lot more of these too. They continued to appear around where I sat as I watched.

She shrank back slightly before forcing herself to look pitiful. "You have no idea how terrible I've been feeling," Lily said weakly. "The only thing keeping me going was thinking about you. Without you here, I didn't even want to take my medicine…" Louis's dark expression eased just a little. Noticing this, Lily pressed a hand to her forehead and leaned toward him as if she was about to faint. Carissa rolled her eyes. Snapping back to his senses, Louis shoved Lily away and coldly said, "We found a badly mutilated body by the lake. Rena is dead. At my and Rena's home, I found your fur. Did you have anything to do with Rena's death?"

Maybe it was when he whispered sweet nothings about loving me, about a lavish wedding, but ended up with his arms around Susanna, kissing her again and again, giving her the wedding, standing with her at the altar, and making me the one left in the shadows? I thought about calling him out. On the drive from work to home, a thousand questions burned on my tongue, but I never let them out. It was not worth it. I dialed a number and gave my orders. "Alan, I'm heading overseas in three days for Ms. Jackson's wedding planning. I need to add a detail. "Have a courier deliver a bouquet of flowers. On the card, just write 'Wishing Mr. Frank and Ms. Susanna a lifetime of happiness' and sign my name.

Michelle walks in. "Sorry to interrupt, but did you order flowers, or can you check with Arthur if he did?". I look at her arms, and she is holding a small bouquet of a white, pointy flower. Mary gasps. "Lotus flowers. They're beautiful. But I don't think Arthur would have picked them out for me. He knows my favorite are Daffodils". I suddenly get an idea and start googling on my phone. Lotus flowers are the flower of knowledge. Rose found something.

Upon returning home, Cassiopeia’s first thought was to go to Anya’s room. The room was tidy and looked the way it did when she had left home that morning.
