His hands move, and a spindly black object shoots towards me, wrapping itself around my arm.

My senses sharpen, and my vision becomes blurred as an eerie glow emanates from my eyes, illuminating the surrounding darkness with an otherworldly light. The agony intensifies to an excruciating level, causing me to stagger and clutch at my temples in a futile attempt to quell the searing pain.
