They moved toward a selection of fabrics in shades of deep indigo, silvery blue, and soft pearl—the colors of the night sky and the moon, both mystical and powerful. Alicia began pulling out different shades, draping them across Stephanie’s shoulders and holding others up to the children’s faces to see how they complemented each of them.
