I tightened my hold on Leopold’s arm, hoping that it would be enough to ground him. “You have to calm down,” I tell him, trying to keep my voice steady. “You are going to hurt somebody.” “Must kill,” Warren growled; his eyes were blazing red with fury, and his lip was curled in disgust as he spat those words. The venom in his voice was enough to send a chill down my spine, but I swallowed down the fear and stood my ground as I stared up at him. “You have to calm down,” I repeated. “Just step back.”

“Alive. Don’t make me repeat myself one more time, Phoebe.” A wave of apprehension washed over me as I took a small step forward. Drawing closer, I took the apple in his hand and brought it to my lips. It felt terrifyingly cold. I took a small bite and chewed. I had a hard time swallowing when all my senses urged me to puke. “War is brewing. The werewolves are coming. This is the only way I can protect you, Phoebe.” My fear escalated and reason fled. I stumbled back, dropping the apple and tried to spit the chewed apple out.

I could see we were both busy getting our cups and having some sips. Knowing the fact that Angel was a joker i knew he was going to explain to Warren what had happened earlier. I saw him taking a deep sip and began to talk.

Inside, the fluorescent lights temporarily blinded Warren, he took a moment to regain his bearings before he surveyed the small store. Pools of blood dotted the floor but nobodies. He looked around and saw a smartphone with the video player still on. A quick examination revealed the battery hung on the edge of death. Warren pressed stop and then played the video from the beginning. A happy and bright voice waved to some middle-aged people. “We are here in the middle of Podunk Alberta in search of snacks on the arduous journey home. The local life forms here welcomed us with open arms.”
