The painted warriors came away from the shadows as one. They were human-like with large ears and sharp oval eyes. They stood barely chest-high and took stealthy steps forward with spears and bows at the ready. The firelight caught the zigzags of white paint from their bodies and light metal armor, making the creatures seem rather formidable.

Venn turned to Lily and whispered, "That tornado wasn't yours to make, Lily." Lily nodded, she knew she didn't have the talent to do such a thing. And Amity turned to her master again, her eyes filled with worry. Because a person who created such a large tornado from the sky must have a tremendous amount of power. In this whole wolf kingdom, it could only be him and the wolf king – Elias' father. "Unexpected, right?" Douglas looked at Elias sarcastically at his shock. Lily pointed to the sky, stammering, “ Have… you made it?”

I agreed and walked with him, further away from the rest of the brawling. Walking with Tanner he ambly chatted about his life. Tanner was the lead warrior in this pack. He had a mate, who was once a rogue and stumbled upon her when he was on his first ever patrol of the border. He has a pup on the way and I have never seen anybody prouder of their own family. As we got away from the warriors, we took position facing each other, now in full fighting position.
