Elsie's POV The warriors gathered around the high platform, watching intently as Commander Hunter called up person after person for the challenge. The exercise looked simple enough, but executing it required precise timing, running full speed, leaping into the air, and completing a full shift to land on four paws atop the raised platform before landing. Some of the warriors failed comically. One male shifted too early, landing flat on his snout in the dirt before even reaching the wood, while another shifted too late, his human knee slamming hard against the edge of the platform with a loud, painful crack that made everyone wince.

Every wing is named to identify or differentiate the route. I took a turn and stopped at a large tapestry. This was my first time seeing it. It was a fine art of a Warrior. He held a sword. A long scar ran across his face, and his hair was braided into two long cornrows. I needed no one to tell me who it was. I stared at the way he held his sword, his hand firm against the steel, eyes sharp, and almost scary. His mouth is wide open in a war cry, and his body is fluid in boldness.

One wall was a mural of wolves running through the forest while they hunted a stag. Tyre loved to hunt, so this mural called out to him. “Who did the artwork?” I asked, gesturing towards the hunting scene. “Gabe and I did. Those are all of our wolves. We’re not allowed to hunt like everyone else, so the two of us drew this for everyone. That one’s Gabe’s wolf. His name is Vince,” she said.

And somehow I agreed with her. Love was bullshit. “So, what did you find out?” I asked. Ruby shifted on her chair and folded her arms. “The tattoo you showed me was a pack sigil alright,” she said. “It belongs to a pack named Mystic Warriors.” “That I know. What else?” “Well, this is one of the most ancient packs to have ever existed. And when I say ancient, I mean ancient. It’s said that of all the packs that the Moon Goddess created, Mystic Warriors was one of them. This pack is a warrior pack and the first ever Alpha was named Achilleus. Masks cover their faces, and they are yelling and stringing bows to shoot at him. As I glimpse down, it becomes impossible to hold back my laughter. Hundreds of cat people come out through the bushes, yelling weird things and throwing their spears at Azrael's feet. The cat people are wearing leaves for skirts, and the females got coconut shells covering their breasts. Tattoos mark their arms, and their tails are swooshing through the air. "They are kinda cute," I admit. "Can we keep one?" The angel steps around, sighing loudly when the cat warriors scramble to get away from him. They yell something in a foreign language, and more feathered arrows pierce his skin.

They stood back to back, waiting for an attack from the unknown darkness. "A dozen, from all sides," Alex whispered. From the shadows emerged glittering cat eyes from all around. The painted warriors came away from the shadows as one. They were human-like with large ears and sharp oval eyes. They stood barely chest-high and took stealthy steps forward with spears and bows at the ready. The firelight caught the zigzags of white paint from their bodies and light metal armor, making the creatures seem rather formidable.

Quinn said, cursing. Quinn was our councill demon, he was millenniums old and there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. I shot my gaze at Fiona, the council witch, her eyes were white and she was shaking. I dashed to her and held her, she was freezing. After a few seconds she went limp in my arms. She was still alive but barely. “Isaac, immediately order ALL Warriors home, by my orders!” This motherfucker dared to come into MY HOUSE, MY HOUSE and pull this? My own warrior, going against, ME?! Against his brothers, against the council?!

Every movement was calculated, a dance of controlled power, the eyes holding a wisdom that transcended mere instinct. Mateo's wolf, on the other hand, boasted a more playful demeanor, a living artwork of russet and copper, with patches of snowy white adorning its paws and chest. Its eyes sparkled with mischief, but behind the playfulness lay a fierce warrior, loyal and ready to defend its pack.
