“Are you seriously of royal blood?” Tawny hung her head shyly wringing her hands. “Well, my mom was 2nd in line to the Cat shifters throne…. Their packs had been rivals for years, following a war that had cost both parties great devastation. Her mother had warned her about Lockwood specifically, about what association with one of them would mean. Desperation clawed at her throat. She couldn't afford to disappoint her mother. Not again. Not after Ryan. "You're a Lockwood, you know what's at stake," she reasoned, stepping closer.

Dad rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Interesting." A slow smile spread across his face. "With your father coming here, maybe he can help Darius develop some new strategies." Elena nodded. "That could work." She leaned back against me comfortably. "Our pack doesn't just have one warrior division. We have Warrior Group A, Warrior Group B, and Warrior Group C." Dad immediately looked interested. "Explain." "Group C is our beginner level. Group B is intermediate. Group A..." she smiled proudly, "...those warriors are terrifying."

Now, let’s shift so you can rest before we go. The following two hours go by with the feeling of every bone breaking and re-arrange before I finally stand on Kato's four legs. He is big, but I am also alpha born, so it’s not really a surprise: mom and dad shift, and Kato bows for his king and queen.
