“Funga...?” “Fungalstopsis,” she repeated. “It’s actually quite common in young wolf pups. They pick it up in their fur, and when they shift back to human form, they bring it back into their bodies. He needs antibiotics, but he’ll be fine.” Jade made it sound like it wasn’t a big deal, but I wasn’t so sure. “Leo?” I asked, but he was clearly relieved. “This is good news, Ava,” he told me, leaning in to kiss me on the forehead. “I had it when I was a kid, too.”

*** "Bubba. Missy. Let's move." I backed up fast, pulled the three cats into the security booth, and slammed the door. While they were busy yelling, a few zombies drifted up behind them. Before the apocalypse, they called me soft for keeping "useless" cats. Not anymore. They think they're so capable? Let them handle it. These zombies were different. They bit with intent—no stopping to feed. Before the lion or the crocodiles could react, over half the crowd was infected. Blood flooded the air, thick and metallic, pulling in more zombies.

Stroking her fur, Larissa went into the living room and asked, "Where's Muffin?" She had been in the middle of speaking when she caught sight of Muffin, who was crouched in the cage. The cage door had not been closed, which was why Cookie was able to come out. But Muffin only lifted her head for a moment when she heard Larissa's voice before dropping back down onto the cage floor. She was dull and lethargic. It was probably because she knew she had done something wrong yesterday. Aster's wounds were not serious, and the doctor had already said the chances of vaccinated house cats having any viruses were very low.

Ava pointed toward the door. “But did you not see what happened in the training room?” Kael’s expression didn’t change. Ava continued anyway. “She lost control.” The room grew quiet again. “She threw me across the room.” “She attacked me.” “And after she got on top of me…” Ava shook her head. “That wasn’t normal.” Kael’s jaw tightened. Because she wasn’t entirely wrong. Ava folded her arms. “She’s infected.” The words hit the room like a stone. Several nearby wolves shifted uneasily.

The journey was long and tiring, but they finally arrived at the Claw pack. Upon arrival, the group was greeted by the pack leader, Kaida, who was a tall and imposing werewolf with jet black fur. Kaida welcomed them to the clan and expressed gratitude to Zemo by bowing to him for their assistance. The pack leader, Kaida, greeted the newcomers warmly but was also cautious. She wanted to ensure that the newcomers were indeed skilled warriors and mages before she could fully trust them. To test Silas's skills, she arranged for an ambush in the forest.

Everyone paused, forks in midair, eyes turning my way. I met their stares, my expression serious. “Rouges.” “No way,” Fay blurted, eyes wide. “They crossed into pack territory. Not just sniffing around the border—they made it into the living area. Warriors chased them out, but they were fast and smart. We didn’t catch anyone.” I was still upset that I was at the opposite side of the pack at that moment. The table quieted. Even our dad leaned back, arms crossed. “But the real shitshow?” I added grimly. “They were in our backyard.”

The werecat shifts back into his tiger, and I follow suit. Dad, Juniper, and I are surrounded. We’re in the clearing about 5 miles north of the packhouse. I mind link. The eastern side is overrun. I’ll try and get some warriors out to you. He says his voice laced with uncertainty. He needs to protect the largest number of people. He may not be able to send us those warriors Euan. Then what are we doing standing around here? Let’s kick his ass. The werecat lunges for me, swiping his big paws at my chest. Dakota dodges the swipe but ends up being backed into a tree. I feel pain on my left flank, and when I turn, I see a rogue wolf has sunk his teeth into it.

Me, Liam and Oliver We went to the same kinder garden, and same school and college, we have been together for a long time and our bond is not something others can break just like that. Alpha Liam and his pack are good with fighting, Alpha Oliver and his werecat pack are good with strategies. I look after the ruling and handling the council. And when we are at war both of their packs play a major role, Werecats plan the war strategy and my pack warriors and black panthers fight the war. All our three packs have a perfect harmony existing together as each other’s supporting system and backbones.

“Why the hell wasn’t I informed earlier?” He flinched. “We thought it was a minor infection. We tried to contain it without disturbing you.” “Really? You used that brain of yours to think?" He bowed his head, ashamed. I walked slowly through the wreckage. Mothers lay beside their pups, as if they’d tried to shield them from the sickness. Warriors had fallen mid-shift, their claws half-extended, teeth bared in helpless fury. The sickness… it was like nothing I’d seen before. Not just a disease. Something darker. Magical.

He mindlinked Russo to get Reese the hell out of there and to keep her in the Alpha Suite. “Max?” He mindlinked the king. “Troy?” “Amber’s infected. Has been for a few days. You need to take precautions, especially with Clementine around you. We can’t afford for the King to get sick,” Troy said. “Fuck, are you sure?” “She’s coughing and the pack is already at risk because nobody picked up on that fact and who knows how many warriors have been down there and went home to their families and fucking everywhere,” Troy spat out.
