My breath came fast and shallow, lips now dry. In the corner, next to a fallen bookcase, stood…an enormous male cat with shiny black fur. Emerald-gold eyes peered into my soul as he lifted his head to hiss at me. I blinked a few times. Yep, I've lost it. Because what I was looking at was a panther, and we didn't have panthers in Colorado. Unless I missed something, okay, remain calm. Remember your farm training. Who the hell was I kidding? This was a wild animal, for Christ's Sake.

I called out, “before our banquet officially begins, I’d like to present something special. A glimpse of the future under my chairmanship.” I nodded to a guard by the main doors, who blew three short blasts on a silver horn. The massive oak doors swung open, revealing rows of uniformed wolves standing at attention. “Behold,” I announced proudly, “the elite Sapphire Sky warrior formation. The finest fighters in ten territories, trained personally under my supervision.” At my signal, the warriors marched forward in perfect formation, their armor gleaming under the lights. Each carried ceremonial weapons—silver spears and moonstone daggers—that sparkled dangerously.

He continued, "You warriors from second-grade worlds sure love to leave marks on your clothes to show off how special you are. Golden Continent's warriors leave a dark gold pattern, while warriors from the Sacred Water Continent always leave blue clouds. That's how you recognized that I'm from a third-grade world. "You try your best to show that you're special. You think that warriors from third-grade worlds are just livestock you can kill as you please, but that's a hilarious thought in my eyes. Every world has its strong warriors. You feel so pleased with yourselves just because you haven't met someone truly strong from a third-grade world."

Two warriors stepped forward cautiously, chains in their hands. “Alpha,” one of them said, voice shaking. “Let us help.”

Kent, an Alpha, probably tired and under pressure of taking care of his clans. He probably doesn’t get to enjoy the simpler things in life like the sunsets. So this was why my sister Marianna was sauntering around in her room in an orange dress which reflected back golden light when she moved, because Marianna was right, I always knew what these werewolves liked. The dress was perfect. Marianna looked perfect. Kent won’t know what hit him. “Mother,” I lazily called. When she didn’t answer I yelled, “Mother, get your butt up here now!”

he said as he patted him on the shoulder. Clyde grinned and gasped, shaking his head. "I'm still having trouble reading you, Uncle Lando..." He turned to Callie and smiled at her when he realized she was looking at him. "Also, if werewolves really exist, Callie cannot be one of them." Lando raised an eyebrow, not convinced by Clyde's words. Clyde followed him as he walked toward Callie. "Well, we never know," he said as he sat down on the bench in front of Callie. "What is your name, Miss?" he asked, smiling.

Jared said. "A while," Kai repeated. "Well, I have a mate, so I wasn't alone for a while and I have a family," Jared said. "Really, that's interesting, no wonder there was a female scent in this room," Kai muttered. "Your mate, is she also a fighter?" Kai asked. "No, she handles decorations," Jared replied. "I would love to see her skill, maybe I could partner her up with Xylah," he commented. "Oh that would be too much of a favor and I don't think I will be able to pay such a favor," Jared says.

“West Fang and Starfire packs.” I smiled at that. “Seems you see some reasoning?” he asked. The audacity of this man! West Fang was a pack that were filled with warriors, and they made the best weapons. Starfire, on the other hand, is a mine pack. The resources gotten from there are used to boost our wealth. “Isn’t that exploitation, Hansel?” I asked. “Add some respect to my name,” he said with gritted teeth. “It isn’t. This is a fair trade.”

My Dad might fancy such but I’m not my Dad. I noticed most of the Warriors were middle-aged he-wolves and she-wolves, but I also noticed some young adults, like me too. I could imagine they had started Combat classes at an early age and had done remarkably well in training for them to have been able to be Reignile Warriors at such a young age. So that basically meant every Warrior here was older than me by Combat rank. I hadn’t finished my combat classes, remember? It had been interrupted twice. Both times by the one and only Cayden.
